Technically I have to agree with blue revolution, though I think there is an element of sour grapes on his part. I have and still play a lot of football ( at a high level) and Nani's goal was very good. His first touch in controlling a difficult ball from Giggs was superb as he brought it down and got it out of his feet in one movement and retained his composure to score. Rooney's was brilliant but instinctive. He himself admitted that 9 times out of 10 they go over the bar and it did hit his shin. Google Klaus Fisher the ex west german striker, or Hugo Sanchez to see a bicycle kick executed to perfection on a regular and consistent basis.

Not really sour grapes, we lost a cracking game- we didn't net our chances- Silva 4th minute for example. I wouldn't have said Nanis goal was better if I thought otherwise. Rooney has openly admitted it was a hell of a chance to actually net it. Apart from that one instance, Kompany had the better of Rooney. I don't doubt that Shreks ( come on, had to say it at some point ;) ) will go down as goal of the season but it's the only decent contribution he made and gets man of the bloody match for it ??

All I can say to Sandperson et al, enjoy whilst it lasts- cos the noisy neighbours are getting louder. CTID

They now play the winners of United v Newcastle (conquerers of Dulwich Hamlet).

Did you actually watch the game?

Yeah you're right. Rooney 5 goals, 15 assists. Tevez 18 goals, 5 assists- Fergie, fergie sign him up sign him up ! Nice one Spuds tonight

SP Aris are an unknown team but they are fully outfitted with international players including the Greek No1 GK, we took a full squad cos we knew they would be difficult at home. SAF would have put a week side out and probably got beaten for arrogance

Definitely not. PC bollocks innit. Come on it's just a bit of humour and he's apologised. And what's more Hoddle should never have been sacked as England manager.

Tottenham were bloody marvellous last night. To win at the San Siro with half a dozen players out is a fantastic achievement and Gattuso is an arse. Flamini should have been sent off too. But that's the sort of refereeing decisions you get in Italy. You must be gutted Atila. COYS!

We've never been a team to rely on one goalscorer BR. Berba is top goalscorer so far this season so it matters little that Rooney isn't scoring, what matters is that he's helping to make goals which I regard as coming into form. 15 assists means he's helped score 15 goals. That's pretty good in anyone's book.

P.S. Would wouldn't have been beaten by the best of Greece.

I disagree Jah. He deserved to be sacked irrespective of his abilities as manager. The minute I heard what he had said I knew he would be sacked promptly.

I can't now recall what he said exactly - but the gist of it was suggesting that disabled people were paying for the sins of a past life.

People with disabilities and their families have enough to bear without Hoddle making statements like that, trying to attach blame for their disability.

I'm not bothered about his current gaff. But as regards the one that got him sacked, the sacking was justified.

    • Called Tessa Jowell GP Surgery today after failing to get two repeat prescriptions from the pharmacy.  When I asked the pharmacy, I was told that they had been requested but not sent by the surgery.  After speaking to the surgery I was told that those two items were no longer on my repeat prescriptions.  I was told I would need a prescription review. Earliest date would be the 22 September.  That is utterly ridiculous.  Surely someone from the surgery should have contacted me to tell me this after requesting the repeat prescriptions two weeks ago.    Also, apparently, there is no point sending an email regarding prescriptions as they are not actioned nor replied to as I have discovered.
    • Erm... guessing it's like any service... so you can receive/be part of something relevant to you in the area where you happen to reside. You don't have to sign up but you might miss out on an excellent Tesco offer or two. 🤷‍♀️
    • https://www.stanthonysprimary.co.uk/parents/admissions/admissions-1 Both my children went to St Anthony's and I feel it is a wonderful school... very inclusive of all faiths (they learn about all religions even though it's a Catholic school) and nurturing with great pastoral care and teaching. it's a real community of families and school staff and I was very sad when my youngest left for secondary this year.
    • happy to buy, but would rather not buy a new one as only need it for a very short time (Hallowe'en). Please let me know if you have one in your cupboard that you don't use.
