On the subject on players misbehaving on the pitch, i.e. elbows and such, a very interesting point was raised on a phone in show recently. If an individual commited an offence such as elbowing a member of the public in the head/face, they would be done for assault. I seem to recall a few seasons back a particularly nasty incident involving a Sheffield United player who caused extensive head injuries to an opponent and didn't get so much as a yellow card for an offence which would have been deemed as GBH on the street. So I ask this, why do the footballing authorities seem to think that players are exempt from the laws of the land once they cross the touch line? I'm in favour of stricter rules and harsher punishments for thuggish behaviour. I don't buy the "it's a contact sport" shite I'm afraid. Contact sport is one thing, assault is another.

Last night on the news, on the subject of Mr Cole, the Manager (I think) said "The mistake was having a gun there and us not knowing it was there".

What is he, a child?!!! The mistake was having something in his presence that he couldn't be trusted with??????

Some of us foolishly thought the mistake was picking up and gun and pointing it at someone else........

Give me strength.

ps still grinning for the Brummies. KRO!

That was Chris Morgan and a Barnsley player who suffered a fractured skull. Morgan was yellow-carded, and really although the injury was caused by Morgan's elbow it was clear from repeated viewing that there was no malice involved - just clumsiness.

Sorry don't agree witth that, it looked baltant to me and Morgan is known for thuggish behaviour, and certainly not for his silky footballing skills.

It was perfectly fine because it was Neil Lennon on the end of it!!!

Before the offended bus come along - that was a joke. Sort of.

I'm afraid I can't condone that kind of behaviour especially when its inflicted on the current manager of Celtic. Absolutely dreadful. ;-)

Cheers Chavski. Fergusons comments bemoaning the refs decisions going against them were steeped in irony. Luiz not being sent off was his chief gripe. Has he never heard of karma? What goes around comes around eh Fergie? Rooney should have been serving a ban so strictly speaking shouldn't have been on the the pitch for Luiz to foul, but hey, I'm not arguing. And Vidic out for Liverpool game. Oh dear!!

Same old Atila *yawn*. ::o

It was a good game last night. Chelsea were at their fighting best and United looked pretty good in parts too. Soft penalty, but despite the conspiracy theorists on here (Atila), they happen to everyone.

Shame about the result but I still don't think Arsenal have got what it takes to win the league. What a shame some of their best players are out for important games coming up.

Definitely the latter. Unbelievable. How long before we see something similar over here?

Also, I have to agree that Rooney should definitely not have been playing last night after his deliberate elbow on Wigan's James McCarthy on Saturday. That said, you win some you lose some. Them's the breaks.

    • Been with The Gardens now for around 30 years and very rarely do I have a problem. I went in to collect a form and mentioned that my leg was hurting and hot- was seen immediately by the Practice nurse who then arranged an appointment on the Saturday with the Extra care service at TJ Centre where I saw a doctor, who then sent me off to Kings for further tests.. I recently booked a flu jab but appointment is in 2 weeks.
    • Have used Milk and More for years. When the price went up we cancelled a couple of pints but we still have 8 pints a week. If we are expecting family etc we buy from Sainsburys to top up. We kept on with M & M as if weather bad we could order extra stuff from them to save us a trip to Sainsburys Local. Also gives employment to our milkman.
    • Hi there, Our Lexus NX300H, (reg RF18BWO) was stolen off our driveway last night, Monday 27th October. It was there at 9pm, and had gone by 7am. If anyone has any footage on their doorbell or Ring, that would be super helpful. We have asked some neighbours and reported to the police etc.  Most upsettingly, there was a box of old family videos in the car boot, in an old Sainsburys box (photo attached). If anyone sees these dumped at the side of the road, please contact me asap! They are priceless videos that my deceased grandparents took. Thank you for any info, Jojo
    • Another shout out for Milk & More - their app allows you to alter the order, add or subtract to it and also to schedule holiday stops without having to leave messages in bottle - so more secure. You do have to set up a direct debit with them, but I haven't had any problems with that myself. I have had one or two missed or late deliveries in several years, but not really a problem - only very occasional and caused mainly by delivery-person illness. And very much feels like an old-fashioned milk delivery. They do special seasonal offers as well. More expensive than the cheapest of the super market milk prices, but for that its at your door, fresh and no bother.
