Advice please on waterproof outerwear...

I need to get a really effective waterproof coat for myself and outer clothing for grandaughters (6 and 3) for days like today and the long scoot to school (no umbrellas!)

Just wondered if anyone had advice on what styles/brands work best, thank you!

Jo Jo Mamon do great waterproof dungarees & coats, either thin or fleece lined for cold weather.

Otherwise there are a few on line companies that do similar stuff.

For you I'd look at hiking waterproofs - maybe Decathalon at Surrey Quays??

Have a look at Sun Togs. No, I haven't gone loopy, they do great wet-weather gear as well as sun protection clothing!

I bought a great raincoat from Blacks (for me), it is properly waterproof, long (knee length) and has a hood. Quite a difficult combo to find as it turns out. Not sure if they still do them but worth a look. Wasn't too expensive either.

Any brand with gora-tex material.

Gora-tex fabric is best known for its use in protective, yet breathable, rainwear.

Have a look on muddlypuddles.co.uk. I got an all in one suit and its brilliant. Just goes over clothes and is totally waterproof. I always pack it in the bottom of the pram.

Tried blacks and muddy puddles with no luck (for adult). I think long waterproofs that go over clothes are probably totally unfashionable but that is exactly what I want!
