There are trains advertised from PR on 28 May and I am planning to use. Is this correctly advertised?

There is no service between Surrey Quays and Clapham Junction the whole bank holiday weekend (Sat-Mon). Replacement buses are running.

Additionally, I'm a local resident who utilizes the park to walk my two large dogs on a fairly regular basis and enjoy the space. While the festival is not my thing and I won't go, there is absolutely NO reason not to allow this. It's a public event for the public on public land.

For those who are wholly opposed - you have options - get out of town for the weekend, use another park, buy ear plugs (see where I'm going with this?).

At the end of the day this is a good lesson in tolerance, which many people need to learn more of.

Southwark website says the promoters had other choices but they especially liked the "pretty" backdrop of this venue and wanted the visual impact of the trees and park for their ticket buyers. The common has no trees. They also said that on the common sound would be harder to contain, the trees act as a sound buffer.

Maybe we can have Jeremy Corbyn next year as his event at White Hart Lane Rec isn't selling to well :)

The government gives money to the local council but the local council are free to spend the money on whatever you voted for...many Labour councils will withhold money from the front line services and spend more on admin at the Town Hall....YOU have given them carte blanche to do this and do it they will- with impunity if central Government is Tory...so suck it up for another 4 years.

"If you tell a lie big enough and keep on repeating it, people will eventually believe it" - Joseph Goebbels

Don't know why that just came to mind...

I know right. I went to Dulwich park this weekend, and did you know, there's a caf?!!!???, right in the middle of the park!!!??? in the exact spot I wanted to sit and listen to my wireless. And all these people(probably out of towners) were in there eating, drinking and enjoying themselves. I don't know why the council didn't think of the local residents who can only use that 100sqm of park space, and couldn't possibly just sit somewhere else.

    • ?????? I have read through this thread and I am totally bemused. It had previously seemed to be a helpful thread, and I  don't want to send it any more off topic by responding to the last two posts by other forum members. Could someone (or admin) please PM me if they think I have stepped out of line and explain why, as recent comments seem to be directed at me and have nothing to do with the subject of the thread. This is a forum, and as in real life people are all  different, with different personalities and sensitivities, and react in different ways,  but the direction this thread has taken is very disappointing. ETA: If the two previous posters want to discuss the points they have made which aren't relevant to the subject of this thread, perhaps one or both of them could start a new thread or threads in the lounge? But probably this thread has come to an end  anyway. Thank you to the other posters for your useful information.
    • Please lmk if you have one for sale. Thanks
    • I totally agree with jazzer having been “jumped on” by various members.. I try and help as that is the sort of person I am, but now will try hard  to just read and not reply.. was down right hurtful to have a comment made along the lines that as I was no longer as person supposed, in ED and moved somewhere else should just leave group. No longer sure what sort of people are on this group - certainly not as pleasant as it was 15 years  ago when people were pleasant, helpful and some things were a joke and much more  light hearted. Everyone has a right to their own opinion as it is a public forum- meaning anyone can join from where-ever but c maybe I have got that wrong as well / doesn’t matter as I will probably leave…
