Cyclist beggar on Grove Vale

Just seen 3 people give money. I was on the other side of the road so watched him walk away. I don?t think I?ve ever seen anyone who?s has a bike accident looking quite so happy.

He was downing cans of industrial strength lager at Camberwell Green on Bank Holiday Monday before heading up Denmark Hill. Well, all work and no play ...

Caught him the other day trying to con 2 Japanese ladies out of money as I was walking past

They asked him how much and he said ?10 as he had already tried

It on me the previous week I told them not to give him any money as it was a scam.

They left and I was given a barrage of abuse

There has been a thread on this guy before. I stupidly gave him money the first time I saw him near Goose Green roundabout since naively it hadn?t occurred to me that someone would deliberately injure their leg to con people out of a few quad. I?ve seen him a lot recently in and around Denmark Hill station and have reported him to staff there. I was pleased to see him getting pretty short shrift from most people but presumably it works well enough otherwise he wouldn?t still be doing it.

I couldn't feel but a bit skeptical about the one outside M&S last week. Chatting away on his mobile phone, he was, stopping only to make a verbal appeal for charity.
