Ah - clearly you haven't been a fan since the first two (and first two episodes of the next) seasons!

That, PGC, was Tom Quinn who headed Section D for the first two series. He disappeared in murky circumstances and ended up in the even murkier world of private security. Hence when a "private contractor" was brought in to 'deal with' the pesky Ruskies he made a wonderful cameo. A reward for those of us who have stuck with the show fromt he beginning. Not like you johnny-come-latelys. Tsk.

That's how I read it.....MI5 try to avoid the "wet-work" (as it's known in the trade) and hand it off to private contractors. Or in this case, Mr Darcy.

    • Some of you may have never been to a post office on a Saturday when one or more people are posting their ebay parcels and you wait yonks.  Just one of those things.  I'm more concerned about the speed of the Royal Mail.  I may start a thread on this!
    • If you're going British, Marks and Sparks do a fantastic Cornish Cruncher Cheddar (get the three year old if it's on offer) and a Stilton/Stichelton which are wrapped in something more like wax paper.  I'm pretty sure they used to do a Stinking Bishop which had minimal plastic wrapping, as well.
    • Thanks to everybody for the responses. Agree that £50-60 is somewhat excessive so supermarket is likely to be the route we take.
    • If you can track down the owners of the now defunct Heritage Cheese in the village, there could be some stock-clearance bargains if you don't mind your cheese a little pre-nibbled.
