gun shots may or not have been heard somewhere unspecified. But it wasn't a firework, allegedly

Recommended Posts

Is there really any need for this kind of uninformed scaremongering?!

The confirmed crime is bad enough, never mind the 'possible.'

I heard some 'possible' masked raiders terrorising my street last night..... but turns out it was just a guy delivering chinese on a moped.

How do you know it was definitely not a firework?

This time of year is when fireworks go on sale. When lived down the road in Camberwell kids would be letting off bangers from mid September to mid November....

You might as well shut down this forum, and indeed all forums then David. Think of it as if you are down the pub with friends or colleagues, a lot of the conversation won?t be purely based on fact (and how boring would it be if it was!) I can quite easily imagine a conversation where someone says;

?did you hear that bang last night, sounded like a gunshot?

?yeah I heard it too and a helicopter overhead, I wonder what was going on?

?Gang related no doubt?

Brilliant DC - at last the tag lines we've been looking for...

I think they should be promoted as banner headlines for the EDF. But maybe we could get some famous residents to endorse them -

"Absolutely no facts are being discussed here." (That Bloke off Cold Feet)

"No one KNOWS anything." (Jo Brand)

"Utterly pointless." (Andy Coulson)

Kids seem to have changed - all playing PS3 and XBox

Ran round Peckham Rye and there's at least a million conkers lying around.

In my day they'd all be gone.

I DID see the helicopter last night as I walked home from the bus stop at around 9.11 and 30 seconds. It had a little red light underneath it. If that's any help? I didn't hear any gunshot(s) or fireworks though... :))

Gang activity. Sorry I'm late. Traffic. Everyone distracted by some bloody helicopter.

I heard a low rumbling noise on Heber Road which may have been the sound of armoured vehicles driven by paramilitary gangs. Or it may have been my washing machine, I can't be sure.

    • probably voting them back in cause they didn't want the alternative, which we now have and look what an utter balls up they've made in the first 9 months, a total calamity. If their aim was to "pee" off every bit of society then they have well and truly succeeded. The next General election can't come quick enough to see this lot booted out, and based on current performance, they've made it clear to the electorate that they are not to be trusted and will be in opposition for many, many, many years.
    • Thank you so much for that link. I had no idea they were there. Also there's a brilliant video on their website about making environmentally friendly gardens, both the hard landscaping materials and the plants used. I learned a lot. Though it was a bit disconcerting hearing someone talk with a fraightfully posh accent  exactly like the late Queen. I will definitely be visiting!
