What does that mean? the fact he has a Germanic name?

Sorry but...what has his name anglicised or otherwise got to do with anything?

Yes - I don't want to be too critical of the moderators of this forum, who do a splendid job, but it's a bit disappointing that a clear hate speech antisemitic comment is permitted to stand.

Hi all

Some of the posts on this thread have disappeared.

I walked past this house today. Scaffolding is now shoring up the front of the house and a small section of brickwork has been removed from the top of the front wall. Hopefully this is the start of major remedial work.

Hi Rahrahrah

In one of my posts that got deleted I said that it's been empty for many years (15+?).

The owner started to put a loft conversion on it which can be seen better from the back. Before the work was finished it was abandoned and has been empty ever since. I suspect it will all need re-doing. I usually walk past it several times a day so am quite well acquainted with it!

Only when you move out of SE22 (and London in general) do you begin to properly appreciate the insanity of the capital's housing market.

?845K for 1143 sq ft of living space. Whole house needs renovating. Central heating installed. New kitchen, bathroom(s). Garden overhauled.

And just look what is next door.

Complete madness.

Why would you feel sorry for the people who just bought the house next door. The derelict house was there and visible, they had a choice not to buy the house and if they are on a tight budget they could have looked for something smaller, or something in an area where you get more for your money - tulse hill/forest hill.
