It died a death. As it was principally run by one individual, who managed to get the bus route moved to a different street, once the individual in question relaxed, nobody else took over the drive.

Maybe you should take up the reins Marcus? But then a residents association is nothing without a cause.

I don't live in Melbourne Grove. And I wasn't involved in the previous incarnation. I also don't approve of residents associations unless they are set up for a reason. And I think this forum is a much easier way of discussing local issues.

We've checked on this and think that the Residents' Association you are referring to covers Tintagel Crescent, Jarvis Road, Derwent Grove, Elsie Road and 1-46 Melbourne Grove - ie the area bounded by East Dulwich Grove, Melbourne Grove (low numbers), and Derwent Grove/Tintagel Crescent.

They relaunched around February of this year. Tessa will contact the people who were behind it at the time and bring this thread to their attention.

Tessa Jowell MP (Office)

There is, indeed, an active residents association - Vale Residents Association covering Melbourne Grove, Jarvis Road, Derwent Grove, Elsie Road and Tintagel Crescent - which canvassed every house in the neighbourhood had a very successful launch event in September at the Constitutional Club. We are addressing a number of local issues. The chair is Simon Blades of Elsie Road, vice-chair is Sandra Tait of Derwent Grove and the secretary is Trevor Gill of Melbourne Grove. For further information, please contact any of us. - Sandra Tait.

They have come out at at least twice to help in Ulverscroft Road, once to take a very ill  fox in my garden to the vet,  and once to safely remove a fox from a neighbour's house. Obviously they need to know the fox's current location!
    • There's a ?new Radio 4 short documentary programme, The Cat Killer Detectives, that might be of interest to some. It talks to the couple who ran SNARL, and provides something of their account of how the project began, developed and ended, and the effect it had on their lives then and subsequently.   https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002j5nr
