Thanks for the suggestions, will update my follow list (though I think I have most anyway, especially the food/pubs etc)!

You can follow me too if you like ;-)

@TaraFitness

Don't forget about the fabulous Jay Rayner (@jayrayner1) who's just up the road in Herne Hill.

So far I follow the actress, the bishop, franklins and eatsdulwich. Going to look at some of these other suggestions.

I probably tweet too much day to day rubbish but I am a wedding photographer who moved to the area about a month ago. Tweeting about shoots and sharing my work I'm @elliegphotophy

  • 4 weeks later...

There are lots of local people on twitter, which makes for a nice community of people working from home or in local businesses.

@DamonGreenITV is always entertaining, especially if you know him (unless you are Mrs Green)

I also follow far too many local food people (which is why I'm always starving by 11am).

You might find at least one event out of the zillions we have coming up of interest, maybe the 2 - 9pm fundraising event for Dulwich Community Garden on Sunday 22 January with Wizz Jones, The Dulwich Ukulele Club and five other top local acts?? (shameless plug for the garden and the gig there, hope admin will allow it here as it's for a community event!)

:)-D

Thanks mid life for the mention I follow most of those you mention,(including you obviously) love the fact that ED & local areas has a strong twitter representation :)

My partner @terryronald is on here & is very entertaining. He has a long career in music as a writer singer & producer, & also in publishing (he co wrote Dannii minogues biography & has helped other celebs) & also has his own novel out "becoming nancy" set in ED in the late 70's.

Me I'm @M_HammertonChef ..basically tweeting about my life as a pastry chef at Spring studios & other nonsense.

I've made some great new friends locally via twitter & it good for finding local bloggers & sharing views..especially for foodies like me :)

Good ideas. Just been opening my own twitter account today, been too long not getting involved, got catching up to do!

can find me (no tweets yet) @GeorgeM_Acupunk for acupuncture, health and diet related tweets and special offers at the Vale Practice @TheValePractice at 64 Grove Vale.

    • Paul's on lordship lane is a good place for garden plants.  He is based near the old harvester on the opposite side of the road he offers good advice on which plants will grow in different positions etc.
    • I've read this thread and made notes! So many useful tips! Would anyone have a recommendation for  a place that sells good quality topsoil that would also be able to drop from a tipper? 10 cubic meters minimum. Thanks in advance and any further advice on garden centres with good selection of shrubs/climbers would be welcome, I plan to visit them all. Garden is fully dug up with drainage just put in.
    • I reccomend Crab Salad-I used to have my hair cut by the owner when he was at Blue tit in Peckham...I moved with him to Cs when he opened it. I've had other stylists there when he was'nt available on the date I could make and they're all excellent. Its a nice vibe too-just very relaxed not too 'hairdressery' (If you know what I mean) and I've reccomended it to neighbours and colleages who've all been very happy. Its not the cheapest but nor is it super pricey and they use good products too.
    • I went last week and would recommend. I was very happy to see pricing based on hair length and especially a fringe trim price. I live nearby and don’t need it fully styled / blown out after a cut (curly so usually prefer to do it myself) so I like that it is variable pricing in that way.
