Otta
Right, as of this coming Sunday, for a number of resons (non of which are a new years resolution), I intend to embark on a month of no alcohol. I know I am going to find it very tough, and I am looking for nice drinks to enjoy in the mean time, as lemon squash will get boring very quickly!I'm not really that in to cola and other fizzy drinks.I am a big fan of Orange & Passion fruit J2O, but equally, I resent the bloody price of them!Any favourites that I could give a try? El Pibe
Though Nord Ale in the bars of skyrim maybe the exceptions I'd suggest. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/21219-your-favourite-soft-drinks/#findComment-511300 Share on other sites
ratty
I am in the same boots. I go for Orange and Mango squash, Ribena, and diet coke or lemonade. As long as it is cold and wet it does the job!Fed up of hangovers and early tired mornings with the kids so no booze pour moi! Mick Mac
Good luck Otta. I tend to drink orange and lemonade when not "drinking". Its the only soft drink I enjoy. Or sparkling water. Other soft drinks are just too sweet/sticky for me. Jeremy
I actually think that Becks Blue tastes OK. And you could probably make a shandy out of it, if you find lemonade too sweet. Jah Lush
Many years ago when I was off the sauce I'd drink Sparkling water and lime with ice and a slice when I was in the pub. Hated the fact that I had to do it but it needed to be done or I was probably going to end up dead. Other than that I love ginger beer. Mango juice is another favourite too. Good luck Otta. Twirly
Agree with RosieH about the Fentimans. Delicious!I usually have some sort of cordial in the fridge to mix with fizzy water. Elderflower is the basic, but there are lots of variations according to season - Elderflower and Strawberry was lovely, think it's Elderflower and Plum at the moment, which is nice but not quite as good. And the spiced berry one with hot water is great as a warming drink (and for when you're on the booze again, my Dad says it's lovely in a drop of red wine that's passed it's best warmed up as mulled wine, though I've yet to try it).Am also on the alcohol-free bandwagon for a few weeks. El Pibe
I echo jeremy with the becks blue.La Pibesa has a load in as she's up the duff and she gets very annoyed when I plough through them myself. It's not unpalatable and the psychological hit of cracking open a cold beer in the evening actually works pretty well. Eliza.D
I think you need punchy flavours. My favourites are, Diet cloudy lemonade mixed with ginger cordial (you can get the ginger cordial in Holland and Barrett)Tomato juice with dash of tabasco and worcester sauceCranberry juice and a pinch of cayenne pepper Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/21219-your-favourite-soft-drinks/#findComment-511365 Share on other sites
Horsebox
Soda Water, fresh lime juice and a splash or 2 of bitters makes for a refreshing and tasty drink.Otherwise if you're really craving the cold beer hit then I'd recommend Bavaria 0.0% lager over Becks Blue.Check this site out Alcohol Free - they have some interesting beverages.
