Haven't got involved in this thread as of yet.

A) it's a witch - trying out a recycled witch bottle B) someone is trying their new shewee, or C) someone feels mighty famous off the back of EDF thread of the year.

Quite frankly, I think someone is obviously finding this all very entertaining. Suprised no-one has seen the phantom bottle dropper yet though. It's been a regular occurrence over a long period of time now. The longer this thread goes on, no doubt the longer the bottles will appear all round Dulwich.

There are stories all over the internet of this happening, one very recently in Bury St Edmunds.

Can samples not be taken and tested for DNA or such? Supposing the person is on the DNA database that is? Or that it is intact urine? Also, is it a offence to dump urine in bottles in a street etc? Or is it just an issue of fly tipping/littering?

I'm not going to read the whole thread but I saw the bottles this morning for the first time. They look like plastic water bottles but I'd find it hard to believe anyone would be able to pee into them. Hands up males or females who could pee into a water bottle without making a mess and spilling most of your pee.

It's taxi drivers, no doubt..... me and my wife were in a yellow cab in NYC, and heard a zip, and the driver actually wee'd into a bottle at the traffic lights! It was the longest 20 seconds of my life.

I tried my best not to touch his hand when I paid him.

Easy enough for most men surely? As long as you aim to please.

Most women would need a funnel :))

So 30 litres or so of urine appears all of a sudden, arranged neatly along the curb? Surely this blows the taxi driver theory out of the water.

I think it's just coloured water - someone is reading this forum, and is having a great time winding everyone up.

Blimey, don't encourage them, the whole of East Dulwich will be filled up soon with bottles of piss :))

Looks like they already are...

After a quiet period, a bit of publicity and it has started all over again...

Fox.

There was a long gap since the last deposit - maybe he was keeping the bottles in the boot of his minicab.

I'm pretty sure someone from the forum rearranged them though.

  • 1 month later...

& again yesterday.

Crawthew Grove/Lacon Road junction. So only a few yards from previous site.

Many many bottles. 12+ originally all neatly lined up on the pavement edge.

Now all just laying in the kerb leaking.

Sick saddo is back in his/her cab i guess!

Disgusting.

    • We used to feed the birds, but once the parakeets discovered this they just took over, scaring away all the other species and eating everything in sight. I tried scaring them away with a Nerf gun, but they just didn't care. I know it will open a can of worms (no pun intended) but I really think  the parakeet population needs to be reduced; yes they are pretty, but they are just like a plague of locusts when it comes to food supplies.  PS apologies for pedantry @malumbu but the true definition of "decimate" is to reduce by a tenth... 🫤
    • If anyone is going to the meetings above, you may wish to raise the issue of the impact of the lights, noise & activity on the local bat population. Gala commissioned a survey on bat activity, which stated that activity had been identified, with several species detected, and that action must be taken to minimise any disturbance to these legally protected species. One of the recommendations was "to limit artificial lighting and reduce noise levels starting at least 20 minutes before sunset throughout the event period"  I asked the Events Team three months ago whether this recommendation had been implemented. I finally got an answer yesterday - "This recommendation was not achievable due to the nature of the event... it was concluded that not implementing this recommendation would have little impact"  So there you have it. Commission a survey (box ticked) and then don't adhere to the findings because it's "not achievable", thereby wilfully and knowingly negatively affecting the foraging & commuting habits of a legally protected wildlife species. This is on top of the useless bird survey, which only takes into account activity within the walls of the site, not the surrounding area which is full of trees with nesting birds which are undoubtedly disturbed by a month of noise, lights & activity.
    • Really good service. Good bread. And very accommodating when we had to outwit our clever resident fox.
    • ...and so, 4 years on from the "dramatic planning meeting" that approved the "meganursery", how has it all worked out in reality? The building looks nice from the outside - but I don't know anything more. Did either of the nursery businesses on EDG fail because there was no demand for nursery places in East Dulwich? Did Carmageddon on East Dulwich Grove get worse? Were pre-COVID work patterns abandoned forever (lol)? Were some of the concerns expressed in opposition to the planning application a teensy bit overblown...? https://southwarknews.co.uk/area/southwark/mega-nursery-approved-amid-dramatic-planning-meeting/
