Disposing of Cutlery

Hi, this may seem like a stupid question - but can you dispose of cutlery in regular bins? Its obviously the knives/forks I am more concerned about (which I can naturally wrap up). Thank you :)

I?ve heard that needy people in the area can reuse household items such as unwanted cutlery.

However, if your cutlery is sterling silver, I?d be happy to take it off your hands :)

Haha, sterling silver? Nope its gold, with a diamond on each piece, got a bit bored of it :)

This cutlery needs to go, its old and had its use!! Otherwise I would have put on the "items offered" section. Thank you though :)

They won't usually take knives/forks in case someone runs amok amid the jumble - true.

You could give it away on freecycle - I'm sure you'd find a taker

I've put mine in the normal rubbish before. I didn't think people would want my very old and very used cutlery. I guess you never know though.

I'd put it in the regular recycling.

If it was me, I'd like to get round to putting it on Freecycle or dropping it round to a charity shop, but I'd probably end up chucking it in the bin :(

You can just put them in the normal bin - even massive kitchen knives et al - can't be bothered to find the link on the Police website but that was the official advice when I checked last year.
