The Staff at the dog have no more than 2 brain cells between them.

They struggle to serve even when the place is empty they fannying around and can?t keep the place clean it?s full of fruit flies and if the wind blows in a certain direction you can smell the stench of filth from the cellar throughout the pub, the food is garbage and the pump beers are part cleaning fluid and guaranteed to give you a stinking hangover.

The Gents toilet stinks like a cess pit in Cairo.

It should be closed down and converted in a Bingo Hall.

It's the best looking worst pub in the UK.

Run and staffed by 100% Muppets.

God knows what it'd be like as a Hotel my guess is it would make Fawlty Towers look like the Grosvenor.

Complete S""?T hole./

I used to until I realised I'd get a stinking headache the next day.

Now I go to another pub and no headache good service and good food No dealing with idiot bar staff who don't know whose next in line.

But there are those who like Wong Kei in soho for the abuse they get, I guess the dog is a little like that for some and they like it.

Not me.

Wow, there's a seasonal EDF?

The Dog that become an hotel sounds like a book title.

Dulwich is crying out for a Hotel of some sort and if it is any good it will have high occupancy I would have thought. We didn't have our wedding in Dulwich as there was nowhere for people from out of town to stay. The East Dulwich "Hotel" probably not the sort of place to put the in-laws (or then again.....???).
Fazer71 has made some very good points and most of them true. I was a regular at The Dog for decades but finally had enough of it a long time ago. It's a nice place to sit outside in the summer, drink and watch the world go by but that's about it for me these days. I think the rot first set in when they ripped the booths out in the smaller end bar over 20 years ago.

The Victoria Inn in Bellenden Road has rooms - short walk from East Dulwich. We put musicians up there.

Why was this moved to the Lounge? This affects the residents of East Dulwich and many local residents would like to know that they can enquire and make objections if they wish during the consultation period.....please move it back to its original spot. Thank you.

Decisions made all over the world affect the residents of ED - but they're not in ED. I suspect this is the reason why your thread about Dulwich Village has been moved out of the ED specfic section ;-)

You shouldn't feel defensive about it though - you'll get plenty of coverage in here.

Oi.

Leave the 'Wong' out of this, your obviously a complete tool who doesn't appreciate the idiosyncrasies in life.

Simple question.

Would Soho/ Chinatown be better off with or without Wong Kei ?

With obviously, it's a friggin institution. They're also experts at seeing a tool & tosser a mile off, the value of abuse you gets is measured by their instinctive-decision-making-tossometer.

You must score a 10/10

NETTE:-S

Annette

I prefer the quality of abuse at Khans Indian Restaurant Bayswater

I always score 10/10 there ??

And their food is excellent unlike Wong Kei?K

Wong Kei just makes me laugh with all the R L confusion?K.

Maybe the Dog could become the first trying to be .. Abuse Idiot Pub in the London ?K What am I saying it doesn??t need to try?K..

    • Hello. Would you like a sofa bed? We have one to give away…photos attached. The scatter cushions are not included.
    • Complaint submitted.  Your helpful link took me straight to the relevant page. 🙏
    • I spend a riddiculous amount of time at the PO.  Every day.  I watch and I watch closely.  Returns take seconds.  The wait might be long but the scan takes a second.  The only thing that slows down a return is people scrolling through their phones looking for QR codes. Business customers like me take seconds.  I might have up to 2 bags of boxes but every one is perfectly packaged and pre-paid.  It just needs a scan.  Seconds. For customers like me and for returns customers they could just put in a self-service check out and we would all be in and out in minutes.  Quicker than M&S.   Or, have a dedicated window for scanning and nothing else.  No facility to handle money at that window so nobody is tempted to ask for a service other than scanning.  That would get the queues down instantly. It is the people picking up things that backs up the queue.  The branch is not equipped to provide the service.  Next time you're in the branch take a look at the shelf space immediately behind the servers.  A few stacking shelves.  That's all the space they have.  Everything else is on the floor in a mess.  I take on board what someone said about the private delivery companies not delivering to Peckham and I didn't know that.   The biggest time wasting service of all is Parcelforce.  If someone in front of me asks for Parcelforce I want to cry.  Long, long, forms need to be filled out by hand, in triplicate.  It is Dickensian.   Please consider taking a few minutes to fill out an online complaint (link below).  I honestly believe that an influx of complaints might make a difference.  I don't want to demoralise the staff or anything sinister but the PO needs to see that the branch is broken. https://www.postoffice.co.uk/contact-us/in-branch-customer-experience
    • Couldn't agree more with the frustration. I avoid it like the plague but made the mistake of picking up a parcel a couple of months ago and it took them 20 minutes to find it. This was after queuing for an hour. All the pickup parcels were just in a massive heap with no order or organisation so they manually had to search for everything. Bizarre and deeply annoying as if run well it could be a good asset to the Post Office and of course the community. Also, very much agree with the point re not taking it out on counter staff as it must be a terrible and demoralising environment to work in.
