And all those years I was told that men were more shallow than women... I knew that was a lie of course

If I have to have multi-millionaire-but-still-endorse-any-old-shite brands as footballers, then Becks actually comes across as one of the better ones. He is old-fashionedly sweet enough to think love would conquer all with Victoria but his face (and actions) suggest he knows he made the wrong decision. But such is ther co-dependant relationship with each other and the tabloids they are stuck with it

And yes the voice does him no favours but through the bland-isms you do get the ocassional nuggest of sense

I've always thought Beckham was a good bloke, and at least, despite all the money and fame, he still looks like he actually cares when he pulls on an England shirt... More than can be said for a lou of them, including the captain! I don't even think she's all that bad deep down... Was always more of a ginger or baby fan though ;-)

    • My mum (91 years young!) well remembers going to Austin's as a child, which she described as an 'Aladdin's Cave'!  She absolutely loved it - and is still a shopping fiend to this day (I 'blame' Austin's 😉). Going back up Peckham Rye, passing Austin's on your right hand-side, just past Phillips Walk (so not far from Austin's at all), I believe there was a British Relay Wireless shop - this would have been in the late 1930s/early 1940s.  Does anyone know anything about this? My grandad (my mum's dad) used to manage it; it was severely damaged in The Blitz - but I am having trouble locating it.  Mum's memory is dim (she was 6 at the time); she originally thought it was in Rye Lane, but we think now it was in Peckham Rye just up from Phillips Walk (originally Phillips Road).
    • Thanks everyone, this will need to be reported again as the fox was still mobile and walking down the road when last seen... hopefully someone will spot and report.
