I also think that you should not be limited to one period of the past or future. You are able to do something like the following:

Go watch the 1966 World Cup Final, then pop off for dinner with King Arthur, go to the Sydney Olympics, eat a Brontosaurus steak, come back to today and tell your mates about what you have seen and then go to Woodstock.

1) I'd like to have gone back to two days ago when I would have dialled 999 when I suspected the English sounding voice coming from my upstairs neighbours were not my neighbours who are actually Eastern Europeans. I would also have waited for him, the burglar there at the time, to come out. Then the police would have possibly caught him.

2) I'd like to go forward to get the lottery numbers but hey - that's silly. Then given heaps of money to my neighbours who had everything taken.

3) I'd like to go back and done something to prevent Tony Blair getting in power despite the joy in 1997 when he did so. Everything's gone wrong with spin and target league table culture. So may have had to have done something there.

4) I'd see myself a year before I die. If I am ill, I'll know to kill myself to prevent the year's agony for those who love me. If I am not ill I will suspect I should possibly die all of a sudden, so I shall carry on trying to enjoy life.

Of course, today may BE a year before I die. Heyyy, who started this topic.

I'll get me coat...

So it coudl be argued that he's not actually your dad anyway, as you killed him you would not be here to go back... Time to raise some awkward questions with your mum then....sorry! :-)

I'd like to go back to the early 1960s to see people like the Rolling Stones, the Who, the Yardbirds and the Small Faces at the places like the Crawdaddy Club and Eel Pie Island and the Marquee Club.

Although I was around at that time I was only a nipper and obviously far too young to go to such places but seeing those bands up close in a hot sweaty club must have been amazing.

I think I'd like to go 20 years into the future and swot up on everything that had happened in those 20 years. Then I'd go back to present day and start spouting prophesies so i would be worshipped and could take over the world. Nyaahahahaa (evil laugh).

Ok just to negate any confusion over suppressed aggression towards my parents or my possible parentage I would leave my poor old dad alone and go backwards a few days and kill myself. Just to see how the old space-time continuum would handle it.

If the entire universe ceases to have ever existed and god packs his bags for warmer climes well? sorry but at least I can say it was my fault. If indeed I had ever existed to cause anything to be blamed for and if cause and effect (which are critically realisable on time) still existed (of course concepts like ?still? and ?existed? would mean nothing as would ?meaning?)

Although I suspect it isn?t all so simple.

    • https://www.assistancedogs.org.uk/information-hub/assistance-dogs-emotional-support-dogs-and-therapy-dogs/   hello   i’d be interested to understand if anyone.has experience of Assistance Dogs especially for autistic children of different ages for emotional support and therapy   There was a prior thread on this topic on EDF 10 hrs ago but it had limited experiences and there was a (claimed) change in UK legislation in 2019. Whilst the industry appears unregulated/unlicensed, there are several providers (approx 15, perhaps more) who claim to have fully trained dogs or say that they can help families to train a puppy/young dog over the 18-24 months.  The latter obviously comes with a need for strong commitment to the challenge. Costs for a fully trained assistance dog are quoted at £13-15k albeit they claim £23k total cost to train the dog. On the one hand, this could potentially be a useful solution for some families if such a dog was truly trained as their websites claim and such a dog was accepted in public places and schools etc… On the other hand, I don’t think that I’ve ever seen an assistance dog of this type or in this context (only for a blind or partially sighted person) and hence a real risk of fraud or exploitation! The SEN challenge for families coupled with limited resources in schools or from local authorities or the NHS as well as the extremely challenging experience of many families with schools offering little or no support or making the situation worse leaves a big risk of lots of different types of fraud and or exploitation in this area.
    • Hi there  We live on Woodwarde Road backing on to Alleyns Top Field.  Our cat Gigi has gone missing — it’s been about 24 hours now. She is a cream Bengal. Could you please check sheds, garages, or anywhere she might have got stuck please? And if you could keep an eye out or share on any local groups/forums, we’d really appreciate it. Photo attached.   Thanks so much! My name is Jeff on 07956 910068.
    • Colin.    One for the old school.   Just saying.
    • Signed, and I will share it elsewhere, thank you for posting this. It's got nearly 70,000 signatures at present, and apparently runs till February.
