Hi everyone!

I am another late newcomer to the thread - Aggie, mum of Archie born on the 5th of Sept :).

Congratulations to all ladies that already had their babies and good luck for still expecting ones!

I can't believe how could I have missed this thread for so long but I am totally up for a meet-up with other mums! Definitely IN for next Monday (or Tuesday ;-) coffee!

Hello, I can do this Mon, and will normally be able to do Tuesday's, but not this week. I think Mon 10.30 at the Gardens sounds great and look forward to seeing others then - perhaps we can start the same thing for Tuesdays at the Dish and Spoon? I have only the one child, but love to be out and about so welcome outdoor activities as well with toddlers.

I'm quite close to Dulwich park, which with it's cafe and outdoor play areas might also be an ideal place for future meets?

Take care,

Kate

Would love to join these meet ups but can't make next Monday. Dulwich park sounds nice, perhaps we could go there as suggested by Kate for the following meet up? Mon / tues both fine for me for the week after next. (not 8th/9th but 15th/16th)

Carine - could you please share where are these baby massage class on Monday? Think my 3 weeks old Sheldon would be interested too!

Sounds like a good plan ladies, sorry I can't make this Monday, but will hopefully be there next week depending on when my baby actually arrives (she's due this Friday, and after a few manic weeks of uncharacteristic domesticity, I'm certainly ready now to meet her!). Congrats to everyone on recent arrivals, xx

Good luck Lovelyrita!

I can do this coming Monday but not Tuesday, although Tuesdays are normally free so the following week Tuesday would work. So Kate, Bexterboo and Aggie, I will definitely be on for meeting up at The Gardens on Monday at 10.30am - looking forward to seeing you there.

Congratulations Caroline! I hope all going well.

I should be able to make it again this Monday, though I may be a bit late as I have the boiler man in (getting all the household chores done before baby no 2 comes!)

I will have my almost 3 year old with me again but she enjoyed the last meet with Kate (and Charlie) and Rachel (and William).

See you then

Louise

Dreamaholic, the baby massage I'll be doing is at The Vale - but I think the classes may be full already. There are meant to be some at the clinic on East Dulwich Road too. If you can't find anything I've got my handouts from first baby - it's not that difficult, I just wanted the excuse to socialise!

Hi all, have been following this thread but unfortunately not yet attended any of the meetups - hope to meet some of you soon! My second is due Nov 18. In the meantime, just a thought, for you ladies expecting no 2 (or 3 or 4..) in November..

As some of you may have already discovered, the NCT only has one session of their "refresher" course locally in all of the autumn/winter 2012 and it is fully booked! Luckily a very good local midwife (Ariadna Sole) who

regularly runs courses for first time parents, is now offering a short refresher as well.

Thought I would mention it in case there are others out there that would be interested - I thought it would be good to get back in the new mother mind frame (feels like absolutely ages ago), as well as meet other mums in the area. And best of all the course is short! (Hard to find time when you've got other kiddies to look after)

Would be really nice to get a good group of us together for the course +afterwards too! Hope to see you there.

Dates/details/contact info for Ariadna and the course are here:

Hi girls,

Congrats to Fiona on the birth of Esme - very pleased for you!

For those of us still waiting - have you heard about the new government directive re Whooping Cough vaccine for pregnant women? Due to a spike in cases they are now offering the vaccine to all pregnant ladies between 28-38 weeks to try and then pass on some immunity to the unborn baby. I called my surgery (DMC crystal palace rd) 10 days ago as soon as I read about it as I was almost 37 weeks by then. No one had heard of it and no supplies had at that stage been sent - I think the government had published the advice before communicating fully with surgeries/ midwives etc

Anyhow - they called me Friday and invited me in for a quick jab with the practice nurse. I also bumped into another Autumn mum to be who was having it at the same time.

Sorry - pressed 'Post' before finished!

Was just going to add it might be worth calling your surgery to see if they have got supplies in and how they are dealing with it - ie a walk in clinic or individual appointments.

Also - I think they are giving it to those over 38 weeks too to try and pass on immunity in the time we have left...

Hello autumn mums, I'm around tomorrow for a meet up so will waddle along to the Gardens tomorrow morning (can't figure out if it's 10am or 10.30?). I'll have my almost 3 year old with me, but no newborn - she's due today but no signs of her yet!).

Hello, 10.30 was the meeting time for Monday's so perhaps we can stick with that? I know I can always use an extra half hour... Also, would anyone be interested in sorting a meeting time for Thurs or Fri at Dulwich Park? Perhaps the aft?

Kate x

    • What is the reason for the change in name? Just curious.
    • Why change it?  You’ve got a fantastic historic, memorable name and you want to change it for something innocuous,  meaningless and empty
    • From the school newsletter:   A New Name for Dog Kennel Hill As you know we have been discussing and consulting with stakeholders about a  name change at DKH for a while. Following engagement with staff, pupils and  families, we gathered all views on a name change for the school and after  careful consideration of the feedback, the Local Committee and the Trust have  agreed with changing the school name to Grove Primary School from  September 2025.  Over the next few months we will begin a gradual process of changing our  name on signage, our website and emails etc. We will keep you updated.  We will be looking at designing a new logo to match the new school name and  will be working closely with a graphic designer to get creative. The school  council will be actively involved in this process. We will share the results with  you as soon as a design has been agreed and confirmed. We will be creating a  new school jumper to replace the old one, once the logo has been finalised. We  will phase this in over time.  We know that this is a welcoming change for some and that there are  parents and children who will be sad about the change. However, as a school  we think it will be a positive change for our school community and we will  work together to ensure that the ethos and culture of DKH will remain!
