Happy to say I won't make tomorrow morning, as our daughter (rosy-cheeked and 7lbs8oz,nameless so far and prob for quite a while yet) turned up at 2.30pm today, so no second time induction needed after all! Def up for meeting up next Monday though!

Amber xx

Hi Amber

Great news! I know you we're keen for baby to arrive this week minus the induction! Can't wait to meet the little lady! How does Otis feel about a girl? Like Carine I'm massively impressed by your forum activity so soon!

Look forward to seeing you all next week!

Hi all, I'm afraid I won't be making the park today - I've woken up with a cold and after a short outing I've realized I'm not up for much else! Sorry for the short notice and hope to see people Monday. Nats, sorry, I'd forgotten that earlier in the day didn't work for you - hope to see you and Jude on Monday.

Kate x

Hey girls,

I am still waiting for my number two to arrive - due this Sunday but no big signs yet - so may see you Monday at the cafe!

Nats - Fridays is my other day with both in tow (when he finally arrives)....we could do park/playdate Friday afternoons after 3pm ish (nap) to keep the older ones occupied? Others with toddlers in tow welcome (Amber?). Might be a few weeks though before I can do it depending on the arrival.

Kate - hope you feel better

Louise (and Annabel)

Hola all, am planning to come to the meet up on Mon. Will be my first outing with the (still nameless) baby! Looking forward to seeing some of you then. Would also be up for a fri arvo meet up avec toddlers, but might need a couple of weeks to work up the courage to venture out solo with two - eek!

Hope you're not waiting too much longer Louise!

Louise - any sign of baby arrival?

Ladysaw - hope you caught up with some sleep!

Hello All

Sorry I've missed the last few meet up's and for the radio silence.

Unfortunately, things didn't quite go to plan with the arrival of our little one! We found at 39 weeks & 5 days that she was extended breech and was booked in for a planned c-section on Monday (8th). Unfortunately due to theatre being too busy with emergency sections, we were 'bumped' until Wednesday (10th) when our daughter, Molly Rose was born. We then had to spend five days in hospital as she developed jaundice and needed photo-therapy and had a mild infection and needed IV anti-biotics. We're home now and enjoying life as a little family.

We hope to make one of the meet up's on a Monday or a Friday in due course.

Congratulations to those that have recently had their babies and good luck to those that are still to 'pop'.

Sarah x

Congrats Sarah on Molly Rose - glad all good now.

I am still waiting this end - I don't think I will make the park tomorrow as I am not good walking in the afternoon (lots of pelvic pain when he grinds/moves around in the afternoon). I am hoping it's a good sign!

I will try and drop in on Monday at the cafe, unless the boy makes an appearance before then - I am now 5 days overdue according to scan dates (though I think I am in fact due tomorrow). Sweep booked for Tuesday..

Louise

Hi all- sorry to gatecrash the thread but had my baby girl Sylvia on 3rd October and live in Peckham Rye, and am keen to get out and about with other new mums as am relatively new to the area.

Am I right in thinking that you have a regular meet on Monday mornings at The Gardens? Would be good to join. Thoughts going out to all of you overdue- I was 11 days over in the end and what I think might have helped get things moving was acupuncture with Dan at Dulwich Therapy Rooms- that and star jumps across Peckham Rye Common...

Catherine x

Congrats Catherine and Sarah!

To those of you planning to meet at Dulwich Park cafe today (Friday), I'm afraid I won't be able to make it anymore, hope to meet you and your little ones next week!

Good luck to those still waiting - hope it will go well!

Has anyone had the 2 month jab yet? Do you know if whooping cough is part of it or do we need to make separate arrangement?

Jenny

Hello!

I've only ever managed to make one of these meet ups way back in the summer. But I'm finally on maternity leave (due with number 2 in a few weeks). I feel like I might be the only one who is still pregnant...

Anyway, I look forward to meeting some of you this morning. Oh yes, and many congrats to those who've had their babies.

Jess xx

PS Katie's mum (who's at Asquith Waveney Av), if you're reading this, I'm Cato's mum. Can you PM your mobile number. Would be great to meet up. I think you're now on maternity leave too?

Hey girls,

We didn't make today as Freddie was born on Saturday afternoon! 9 lb 2 oz (2 lb bigger than Annabel was!) and we are all doing well. I had forgotten how hungry and relentless newborns are so pretty tired but enjoying the newborn cuddles again.

Hope everyone is doing well and hope to see you once the fog has cleared a little! Mondays and Fridays are my days with both of them so happy to arrange a few toddler/ baby play dates in a few weeks time for those days....

Louise

Hi all

I'm finally on maternity leave too so would love to start meeting up again. So will try to make it to Dulwich park on Friday with my 2 year old if that's still going ahead...and assuming baby hasn't decided to turn up by then.

So hopefully see some of you then.

And Jess - thanks for message, I'll pm you.

    • Hey Sue, I was wrong - I don't think it would just be for foreign tourists. So yeah I assume that, if someone lives in Lewisham and wants to say the night in southwark, they'd pay a levy.  The hotels wouldn't need to vet anyone's address or passports - the levy is automatically added on top of the bill by every hotel / BnB / hostel and passed on to Southwark. So basically, you're paying an extra two quid a night, or whatever, to stay in this borough.  It's a great way to drive footfall... to the other London boroughs.  https://www.ukpropertyaccountants.co.uk/uk-tourist-tax-exploring-the-rise-of-visitor-levies-and-foreign-property-charges/
    • Pretty much, Sue, yeah. It's the perennial, knotty problem of imposing a tax and balancing that with the cost of collecting it.  The famous one was the dog licence - I think it was 37 1/2 pence when it was abolished, but the revenue didn't' come close to covering the administration costs. As much I'd love to have a Stasi patrolling the South Bank, looking for mullet haircuts, unshaven armpits, overly expressive hand movements and red Kicker shoes, I'm afraid your modern Continental is almost indistinguishable from your modern Londoner. That's Schengen for you. So you couldn't justify it from an ROI point of view, really. This scheme seems a pretty good idea, overall. It's not perfect, but it's cheap to implement and takes some tax burden off Southwark residents.   'The Man' has got wise to this. It's got bad juju now. If you're looking to rinse medium to large amounts of small denomination notes, there are far better ways. Please drop me a direct message if you'd like to discuss this matter further.   Kind Regards  Dave
    • "What's worse is that the perceived 20 billion black hole has increased to 30 billion in a year. Is there a risk that after 5 years it could be as high as 70 billion ???" Why is it perceived, Reeves is responsible for doubling the "black hole" to £20b through the public sector pay increases. You can't live beyond your means and when you try you go bankrupt pdq. In 4 yrs time if this Govt survives that long and the country doesn't go bust before then, in 2029 I dread to think the state the country will be in.  At least Sunak and co had inflation back to 2% with unemployment being stable and not rising.
    • He seemed to me to be fully immersed in the Jeremy Corbyn ethos of the Labour Party. I dint think that (and self describing as a Marxist) would have helped much when Labour was changed under Starmer. There was a purge of people as far left as him that he was lucky to survive once in my opinion.   Stuff like this heavy endorsement of Momentum and Corbyn. It doesn't wash with a party that is in actual government.   https://labourlist.org/2020/04/forward-momentum-weve-launched-to-change-it-from-the-bottom-up/
