I'm sure I'm not the only King's employee who has had notes left on my car in Grove Park SE5 asking them not to park there. King's staff work hard for their community and it is very hurtful after a hard days work to return to their car to a note asking them to move their car and park somewhere else. My car has been damaged twice. While parking is not permit only King's staff will continue to park in a convenient place, near to work, and unfortunately living in London we all have to put up with a little inconvenience. I would ask people in Grove park to have a little understanding. I know this is not strictly East Dulwich but wasn't sure how else to communicate this.
It would be lovely to use a bus but I live in Kent and provide my specialist nursing skills at the Hospital for YOUR local community. I have to use a car and not public transport as I also visit other hospitals to provide medical treatment to people nearer their home. Local residents can probably use a bus to get to their destination better than we can, so maybe they should consider their need to own a car.
Maybe you could leave a note on your dashboard explaining that you are a nurse etc. and that you need your car for work. Can you not get one of those Southwark Parking Badges that allow you to park anywhere in Southwark if you are providing medical services? I know doctors get them.

On a bigger scale of things, Kings College Hospital governors and staff are more than aware of the nightmare of the car parking situation, and Lambeth have refused permission for them to build a multi storey car park.

Everyone needs to write to Lambeth Council planning to ask them about this.

Having said that, I remember some time ago reading on this very site, something about possible moves in this area and that we should watch this space. Who was it, and what was that news!?

I don't agree with notes/vandalism but you've also got to see it from the point of view of people who live in the street where you are parking surely?

King's staff work very hard for the community so why don't King's provide free parking?

My husband drives to Hammersmith some days if he's on an early shift and there's no buses/tubes. He has a workplace carpark. When he comes home it can be a nightmare to park and for other people in the road who have young children, heavy shopping and have to traipse a long way from their house, sometimes streets away, and yes we live a 10 minute walk from King's.

I don't think anyone can question owning a car just because we live in London really.

I love the CAPITALS!

'specialist nursing skills for YOUR local community'

Really? You think so?

Several things....

How many of YOUR patients do you think you are looking after because they're local?

When do you plan to stop positioning yourself as a foreigner who looks after retarded LOCAL people because you're doing it on charity?

I'm absolutely sure that your car parking space in Camberwell is being persecuted, and I understand that you feel this is unnecessary, but I'm also pretty sure that your own attitude about US and THEM is probably pumping this up to an unpleasant level.

    • What was he doing on the stage at Glastonbury? Or on the stage at the other concert in Finsbury Park? Grinning like a Cheshire cat whilst pissed and stoned 20 somethings on the promise of free internet sung-- Oh Jeremy Corbyn---  What were his policies for Northern mining towns with no jobs or infrastructure? Free Internet and university places for youngsters. What were his other manifesto pledges? Why all the ambiguity over Brexit?  I didn't like Thatcher, Blair or May or Tony but I respected them as politicians because they stood by what they believed in. I respect all politicians across the board that stick to their principles. Corbyn didn't and its why he got  annihilated at the polls. A socialist, anti imperialist and anti capitalist that said he voted for an imperialist and pro capitalist cabal. He refused to say how he'd vote over and over again until the last knockings. He did so to appease the Islington elite and middle class students he was courting. The same people that were screaming that Brexit was racist. At the same time the EU were holding black and Asian immigrants in refugee camps overseas but not a word on that! Corbyn created and courted a student union protest movement that screamed at and shouted down anyone not on the left . They claimed Starmer and the centre right of labour were tories. He didn't get elected  because he, his movement and policies were unelectable, twice. He turned out not to have the convictions of his politics and died on his own sword.    Reform won't win an election. All the idiots that voted for them to keep out Labour actually enabled Labour. They'll be back voting tory next time.    Farage wouldn't be able to make his millions if he was in power. He's a very devious shyster but I very much doubt he'd actually want the responsibility that governance requires.
    • The purge of hard left members that were part of Corbyn's, Mcdonnel's and Lansmans momentum that purged the party of right wing and centrist members. That's politics. It's what Blair did to win, its what Starmer had to do to win. This country doesn't vote in extreme left or right governments. That's partly why Corbyn lost  We're pretty much a centrist bunch.  It doesn't make it false either. It's an opinion based on the voting patterns, demography and statistics. Can you explain then why former mining constituencies that despise the tories voted for them or abstained rather than vote for Corbyns Labour?  What is the truth then? But he never got elected!!! Why? He should have been binned off there and then. Why he was allowed to hang about is an outrage. I hold him party responsible for the shit show that we've had to endure since.
    • Depends on what the Barista says doesnt it? There was no physical confrontation with the driver, OP thinks she is being targetted when she isnt. These guys work min wage under strict schedules so give them a break unless they damage your stuff
    • CPR Dave, attendance records are available on Southwark's website. Maggie Browning has attended 100% of meetings. Jon Hartley has attended 65%.
