Mother Flipper at Brockley Market every Saturday are a close approximation but lack a certain "filth". Does save you a trip to town though.

Can't say I really enjoyed the bricks'n'morter versions of Meatwagon (in New Cross).

Yet to find anything nearly as good locally - they are all far too overcooked. Anyone tried one from the Drafthouse yet?

They do a rather good juicy aged beef burger at The Lido Cafe. Very good it is although Cafe prices it aint. Keep meaning to try out Honest Burgers in Brixton Village. Looks delish.

I used to think the Bishop did a very nice burger, and used to have it medium rare, tasted very good.

I had a very good blue cheese burger in The Great Exhibition recently. But if you look at that thread you'll find their food has been rather hit and miss since it opened.

Aye...me. And it was 6.5/10 to be exact. Thick and pink in the middle but lacking a bit of flavour and a little dry. The beer in there is excellent and made up for it though.

Draft house was tails to honest burgers' heads tonight- honest won and was frankly exceptional. 25 minute queue outside however, but they took drinks orders in the queue so was no problem. For the record the burger was delicious, a match for meatwagon/liquor/market- perhaps even better, and the chips with rosemary salt (included in ?8.50 price) were the best I've ever had. A bottle of beer (Amstel or Sam smiths) was a pound cheaper a bottle than meatliquor too. And what an utterly charming place Brixton Village is- I can't believe I've never been before.

Excellent news. Brixton village is pretty cool and with Franco Manca round the corner, the food options that way are outstanding.

Or perhaps not call it anything and just have people refer to "you know, that place with all the nice things"?

to be fair to Otta, the shops are in a spot already known as Granville Arcade

the Brixton Village name is tipping sliiightly towards pretentious

But it is a great place regardless
