And from the Wine Box Co Ltd of SW2 5DZ

"WBC 'aka' Winebox ‏ @wbc

@JackBlocker ughhh! good luck with that, be sure to don your condescending hat won't you! haha :)"

Twitter exposes people as arsehole shock!

I used to think Twitter was just a place for solipsists and narcissists to wank in the public domain and hence served no useful purpose.

Now I realise that giving solipsists and narcissists a place to wank publicly and alert us all to their onanistic bent is exactly why twitter is useful!

IF you could be bothered (like me) to read his blog, then you'd come across this jem

It's a pizza review for The Gowlett

Though, to his credit he did finish like this

I'm sure ol-jack/foodwasteman/babyrea will be sorely missed on here

(what a c-nut)

NETTE:-S

I think it was this lazy cliched article that caused a stir, courting comments such as "You are Bang on about the less than yummy mummies and their evil spawn!!!!", where she revelaed herself to be a firstclass twonk, unless I remember wrong.

But that's the privilege of youth, to be able to arrogantly look down on everyone and think you have all the answers.

I'm sure once she actually grows up and realise she has none of them, her writing will improve, rather than be the proverbial and aforementioned "shit smeared mutual backslappery turdfest".

Ach not really - it started long before that when she posted a perfectly reasonable question about the Palmerston, but in doing so linked to her blog, which one or two posters (Oh OK, *Bob*) interpreted as "Hey - look at my blog".

It wasn't a particularly warm welcome initially, but in fact that blew over after about 5 posts and it quickly settled down to people either saying, "yes I agree" or "no, I don't" and all was fine, until the Palmerston itself posted a rather snitty reply accusing her of amatuerism, at which point 2-3 of Helen's mates registered and piled in. One of them made a crack on Twitter about all visiting the place and giving it shit reviews.

So then there was some more snittery, and then all the usual mentals and hard of understanding piled in and before long there was a textbook nine page jerkfest where any original point had been long lost.

Foodstories seemed to think she was under some sort of sustained attack but she wasn't - plenty agreed with her, in fact. It just wasn't quite the "you go darling, that looks totes amaze" circle therapy of foodie blogdom.

The "feckinkids" article was much later, and somehow spawned some truly mental EDF batshittery about parents needing to be teetotal at all times, or some such, from one particular poster. But FoodStories had nothing to do with that - someone else linked to her article and then some absolute bellends went at it.

(BTW, I think this wins me the official "Forum sad bastard" badge, if you please?)

Hmm, american studies will do that to you

*looks uncomfortable, makes little figures of 8 in dirt with outstretched toe*

I did stick with history on the whole if it's any consolation....errrr to me.

Wholeheartedly agree about Bukowski and Burroughs (lets throw in Kerouac whilst we're at it), though I have a soft spot for H.S.T. especially on the campaign trail.

Kerouac can fuck off as well

HST produced a great deal of petty hateful shite - too much time on his own, too much liquor and too many guns. The campaign trail n hells angels stuff was ok, but was of its time. You have to wade though the trough of liquid manure to find a comsuable nugget of savoury goodness.

but what do I know. I dont even get irony.

    • She's responded, but I'm sure I read something in the Guardian consumer advice column. Might be some pointers if you're stuck
    • Two for Ratcliffe, the obvious one:   And one simply because it has the word  "You are nothing but blind fascists" in it.  Oh and a good song too.   Haven't listened to this for years.  Bloody good!
    • It's time to ditch your team, otherwise you could be seen to supporting your owners dog whistle comments (aka racist). Fortunately you can support a local team, I understand that Palace have pretty right on fans, and you have Dulwich Hamlet and Peckham Town too. If you genuinely are from the North West then Everton fans are well rated for their politics (ignore the paving over paradise/loss of UNESCO world heritage status), and of course FC United of Manchester. Salford Town not a bad bet either. For those who are glory hunters dare I say over the river in the North London library aka Emirates (shame they don't rhyme) you have both the likelihood of a title this season and a very multicultural fan base. If you want to be really cool the Welsh speaking team Club Cymric, Forest Green Rovers, or AS Livorno in Italy, an anti-fascist team
