He fricasees his and accompanies them with an organic pinot noir!

Came home about 5:15pm on Sunday to find police all over the place following what I think was a stabbing on Sydenham High Street. If rumours are correct, the victim ran to the station to call for help on the emergancy line, so out road which leads to the station was a crime scene, and we wern't allowed in to our house, and were told we might not get back in that night.

Luckily after several hours in the pub, the police were gone, and we were able to go and pass out!

Then came in to work on Tuesday to a team meeting in which my manager announced he will be leaving. We asked where he was going only for him to look at my a bit weirdly before announcing that he would be going to the job that I was "pipped to" just before Christmas!!! Wouldn't mind, but he kept it totally quiet, and it sounds like it was a done deal before the interviews ever happened. He could have told me and saved me the bloody wasted day off for the interview!!!

That one wasn't so weird, but thought I'd get it off my chest.

Is that all the cat owners who are so careless with their moggies that they keep going missing? At least some pics of feline road-kill might enable some of these distraught owners to identify their wayward pussies and get closure on the whole thing? Bit more user friendly than going down to the kitty-morgue, having an assistant browse through all the refrigerated drawers before he pulls back a sheet from the body in order for the distraught owner to nod and sob hysterically:

"Yes, that's Snuggles!"

By the way, just in case you think I am heartless, the bluebottle in the photo, whose grisly fate has been plastered on this forum in fully techni-color detail was my pet, little Buzzy. He was great, he was! We used to sit on plates of meat together, vomiting and voiding. Aaah, the memories!

A friend of mine lost her glove on a a bus, she called up the bus people who said they'd call her back, and they did saying they had found it. She went to the depot that evening and found that

a) it was where they said it was

b) it was open and staffed

c) they had her glove.

most unlike public services if you ask me.

    • I would recommend the Dulwich Test and Service centre that used to be in Hindemanns road and then moved to the little Trading Estate off Tyrrel Road. I've used them very happily for nearly 40 years. Paul and Reg Shires.
    • Such a shame as Dells is fantastic - a decent local business providing a great service to residents.
    • Ha ha that's hilarious - how wonderfully embarrassing for Reform!
