seanmlow
I think it is quite nice. Not sure if they still do the pork belly but that was lovely! And fairly reasonably priced too! mockney piers
I've experienced pretty much a sine wave of quality over the years, it improves, it gets worse, it improves....etc.I've not been to the restaurant recently but managed to get a roast downstairs a couple of weeks back that was jolly nice. standswithfist
do you mean upstairs? I ate there the week before christmas and it was ok. Not brilliant but ok. I had ricotta and artichoke as a starter (couldn't taste the artichoke) and for a main pumpkin and cheese ravioli - I love pasta but this was drenched in oil and fresh raw garlic. But I would go again - there was a pork dish and my friend had it and it tasted great (i nicked some). So a bit hit and miss really. The wine was great though! mockney piers
It's been good enough in the past that I always consider it, but been iffy enough in the past that it's not in my dead cert, impress visitors list. If you're not doing the latter, then give it a go. It's never been bad as such. Ant
I'd agree with that. I've been four times. Three were good - definitely want to go back again good, but as Mockers says not necessarily impressing visitors good. One occasion was bad, but not terrible. Just enough to make me wonder, when taken along with all the other slightly lukewarm reports I've read on here, whether I'd be better off going elsewhere.I'd like to try it again for myself, but when I'm already paying 30-odd quid for a babysitter just to be out at all, I'm a little reluctant to gamble on maybe hitting them on one of their off nights. SeanMacGabhann
Consistency has been problem, but in the last year or so I would say that the new management take a keen interest in feedback on the food. They really seem to want to get it right and have been very impressive in they way they have dealt with feedback.. so give it a go if you aren't happy I would sayLast time I ate there was a couple of Saturdays ago - had the lunchtime lasagne which was spot on Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/2355-food-at-the-edt/#findComment-68830 Share on other sites
AllyCat
I've only had the roast dinner in there so far - and I thought that was pretty good.Oh - I forgot - I've had pizza too... pretty delicious! The upstairs is a really nice place to eat too... very eclectic! harvey
i ate downstairs in November - ordered a pizza. It was OK but nothing compared to the gowlett. last time i went upstairs was probably 2 years ago. It was ok but nothing special. Had a very limited choice of vege stuff as well. SeanMacGabhann
I find the pizza's to be the poorest offering on the menu - too doughy and bland - even the spicy one..
