Can't believe no one has mentioned Emily's Plaice at 3 North Cross road, 020 8299 4840. They do lovely fish and chips, we phone ahead about 10 minutes before we collect and it's all freshly cooked and delicious. Owner is lovely too 👍

Good take away, but you can also eat in at the back which means the batter is super crispy and the chips lovely and hot. Also a BYO, so bring a nice white!

I can't comment on their fish, but the chippy on North Cross Road passes this northern boys high demands. I can't advise anyone to try curry sauce south of the Watford Gap, but I do dabble occasionally and can't complain
