What does this mean?

I can't agree with you. The fact that they seem to be sanctioning someone who posts vile messages is very suspicious and makes me think this person is involved with the BB. If that was my business I would make some sort of statement to distance myself from them. I guess it must be Jamie Younger from the Palmerston who is involved with this venture as he also owns the Herne.

There have been several threads on the Palmerston in the past few years which did not portray them in a good light. One was started by Food Stories.

Jesus Christ? I read the ES review from the online link provided by Taper on this forum at 11.20am on the morning of 5 Sept some 4 hours before I replied to your post and some 2 hours before you thanked Taper on this forum for providing it! Giddyaunt posted several misinformed posts about the ES review questioning its impartiallity-check back and look-if you cant see anything get down to Specsavers (and no, this is not an endorsement, before your accusations start flying) No I wont post you a copy of SN review-check their website or contact them yourself if you are that interested. All the best.

Giddyaunt - I now getting very fed up with your snide slurs and accusations which you continue to make from behind your computer. Would it please be possible for us to meet up for a pint and you can say what you want to say to my face? I will certainly repeat all I have said to you and more to your face. If not, please do not publish any more slurs or accusations about me.
I am sorry to hear that. I suffer with mild cerebal paulsey which can affect my ability to properly percieve events in their correct sequence and my spacial awareness. Might I suggest you get someone who is able to read all the postings to you in date and time order and who is able to explain what they mean and their relevance to the subject in question before you start writing stupid comments that make you look like a complete imbecile. All the best

Sorry to get back to the subject in hand but I went to the Begging Bowl last night.

Lovely atmosphere and helpful and friendly staff. I had a mojito (with Thai Basil), others had wine, we tried squid, gurnard, rabbit, duck, tofu, sirloin steak and broccoli stir fry. All gobbled down except for broccoli which we found too salty. ?22 each for a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

So , is it a good time to visit the begging Bowl, whats the food like. and when can i book a ring side seat for the "BIG FIGHT LIVE" between Giddyaunt and IJJ1963, i can order some brockley and sling it at them. i hope this all stops soon ,may be it would nice if you both book a table for two and talk to each other like men , settle your arguments , and PISS OFF . my name is Morgan Freeman

Tillie, I think Giddyant/giddy aunt is Gidget, and IJJ1963 is a bit confused.

IJ... sorry your posts were met with such hostility, but you have to understand that this forum has a long history of fake recommendations, so your incredibly enthusiastic tone set the alarm bells ringing. But calling someone a nonce, and offering to meet them mano-a-mano is just childish and embarrassing. You should really stop.w

    • The current wave of xenophobia is due to powerful/influential people stirring up hatred.  It;'s what happened in the past, think 1930s Germany.  It seems to be even easier now as so many get their information from social media, whether it is right or wrong.  The media seeking so called balance will bring some nutter on, they don't then bring a nutter on to counteract that. They now seem to turn to Reform at the first opportunity. So your life is 'shite', let;s blame someone else.  Whilst sounding a bit like a Tory, taking some ownership/personal responsibility would be a start.  There are some situations where that may be more challenging, in deindustrialised 'left behind' wasteland we can't all get on our bikes and find work.  But I loathe how it is now popular to blame those of us from relatively modest backgrounds, like me, who did see education and knowledge as a way to self improve. Now we are seen by some as smug liberals......
    • Kwik Fit buggered up an A/C leak diagnosis for me (saying there wasn't one, when there was) and sold a regas. The vehicle had to be taken to an A/C specialist for condensor replacement and a further regas. Not impressed.
    • Yes, these are all good points. I agree with you, that division has led us down dangerous paths in the past. And I deplore any kind of racism (as I think you probably know).  But I feel that a lot of the current wave of xenophobia we're witnessing is actually more about a general malaise and discontent. I know non-white people around here who are surprisingly vocal about immigrants - legal or otherwise. I think this feeling transcends skin colour for a lot of people and isn't as simple as, say, the Jew hatred of the 1930s or the Irish and Black racism that we saw laterally. I think people feel ignored and looked down upon.  What you don't realise, Sephiroth, is that I actually agree with a lot of what you're saying. I just think that looking down on people because of their voting history and opinions is self-defeating. And that's where Labour's getting it wrong and Reform is reaping the rewards.
    • @Sephiroth you made some interesting points on the economy, on the Lammy thread. Thought it worth broadening the discussion. Reeves (irrespective of her financial competence) clearly was too downbeat on things when Labour came into power. But could there have been more honesty on the liklihood of taxes going up (which they have done, and will do in any case due to the freezing of personal allowances).  It may have been a silly commitment not to do this, but were you damned if you do and damned if you don't?
