I'm not looking for cheap beer - I was doing some cross-referencing from another thread, but on a Sunday that was far too optimistic I guess

We must be getting near to the point of quoting the price we forumites are willing to pay for a pint during our special monthly bash.

I would bet the Upland hasn't been so busy in yonks.

Has anyone any figures on turn out(?)

Where to next time, the clockhouse, CPT, Plough, Montpellier magdala anyone know anywhere else that might do for the cream of se22/15?

Of the above list the Montpelier is the only one not to have experienced a visitation from the itinerant court that is the EDF drinks.

I'm still partial to the Castle, but Montpelier is fine by me.

Liking the idea of the Montpelier. Would go for the Castle too. If I recall correctly, the Herne missed out one month last year. We haven't been there yet either.

At some point we did float the idea of going to a local pub and then going to a ED-borders pub turn and turnabout - so it could be the Montpellier this time and the Caste the next.

Is 4/4 OK with people?

Cheers Rolo, I know the one, but haven't been in there. If we were going Peckham way, I'd go for either The Wishing Well on Bellenden, or Bar Story.

My vote goes to The Castle, but I'll come along wherever we go, and do think we should do some Peckham pubs at some stage.

The Castle gets my vote. Still recovering from a very debauched weekend. Bloody shame about the council turning up at the Drum on Friday and getting us all kicked out but I suppose it was a long time coming.

Not sure if I fancy the Castle - I remember the discussion last month about the place - it really didn't sound so great - and actually I don't care how many of us are there, if it's a rough pub I'm not that interested.

There are times when you can have too much democracy! This is one of them.

We have meandered from the Montpellier, to the Castle to the Hob via the Wishing Well.

I know that the Castle has its fans, but it also has a reputation that will put some people off and that isnt in the EDF spirit (yes, we have one, I just made it up, it tastes like posh gin and DM has it on her weetabix in the morning).

Many of us meet up for drinks and I for ne will be more than happy to have a drinkie at the Castle with the lovely Annasfield and its other fans.

However, lets go to to Pub that is easy to get to and everybody will feel comfortable with. Also I cant help noticing that we get a better turn out when we use a local pub.

So local pub, that is generally acceptable. Focus everybody.

I'm sorry, but I think that's crap, the people that run The Castle are very nice, and just cos it's had a rep in the past doesn't mean we're all going to get bottled. What about the people who feel far more comfortable in somewhere like the Castle or CPT as opposed to the more Gastro type pub (yes I mean me). Not trying to be arkward, but reputations aren't always deserved, and once upon a time the EDT was bloody rough! So far The Castle seems to have more votes than anywhere else does it not?
