I read a fantastic quote the other day, and toyed with starting this thread, and for the life of me can't remember what the quote was.

But stumbled on this one this morning and thought, no time like the present.

"As far as I'm concerned, I prefer silent vice to ostentatious virtue." - Albert Einstein

My favourite is

Dorothy Parker on being challenged to use the word ?horticulture? in a sentence said, ?You can bring a horticulture but you can?t make her think?.

Some others I like

?Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don?t like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that.?

Bill Shankly

?a perpendicular expression of a horizontal desire.?

George Bernard Shaw talking about dancing

?either the wallpaper goes or I do.?

Last words of Oscar Wilde

?I never forget a face, but in your case I?ll be glad to make an exception.?

A: Groucho Marx

    • Hello.   Thanks Nigel and Hparker 😀   I've got new slots available for new students looking for a piano teacher or guitar teacher.   You could start in the new term beginning September, or I'm also available adhoc-styles through the summer holidays at times.   I teach all ages, in most styles, in lots of different ways according to how you learn/like to learn.   Give me a call or text on 07730 402336.   I have connections to lots of performance opportunities/networks too.   I run regular events /student concerts, and play in bands/perform.   Natalie.
    • So do I, but I think they are in trouble as well.  Anyway, that space wouldn't be big enough.
    • I'm not talking about Starmer. I was responding to a post which  said that  Corbyn was unelectable. How people voted in the "more hotly contested election" is irrelevant. Corbyn wasn't leading the Labour Party then. Starmer was. And the turnout for Labour reflects that.
