LOVE Lucozade which Godley and Creme* referred to as Hospital Champagne.

Drink plenty of that.

Goes well with Gin too. Or vodka. Or both...

and I recommend a capsule called CONTACT which dries runny dozes*** like a dweem.

**** they also wrote a fabulous song called "You've Got A Cold".

I'll get my coat.

Me! BOOOOOOOOO!!!

I was away a few weeks ago and managed to break a tooth in half. Last week playing netball I landed badly and twisted my knee. Today I have the start of a cold.

Oh and guess what......?

Tomorrow I'm going on holiday - skiing. Great with a bad knee and cold. Boo again! :(

Damn, I have been fighting it all week, but now I have got it too, headache, sore throat, snotty stuffy head, loss of appetite (hurrah) & general feel slothy & run down with a slight temperature & bizarrely my fingers feel really swollen but dont appear any different??

I consulted the nurse at our GP practice as my daughter has been laid low by this same set of symptoms. She said it's a 10 day virus that's everywhere at the moment, and you don't start to feel better till day 7. Only remedy is combo of ibuprofen and paracetamol, and the usual stuff about keeping hydrated.

Sorry guys! But the advice on timing does seem about right. She's definitely on the mend now

    • Who was Diana Rayworth, when 'resting from acting'. Her successful career was very sadly cut short following a devastating accident.
    • thanks Jenijenjen and all - yes, i remember walking or taking the bus from the elephant (where i was working) to Camberwell to get there.  I think Tim - who's still at Franklin's -  was there in those days, and the woman who ran the cafe!  Other food places that i remember fondly are the ones in Neal's Yard (with the Hunkin sculpture that you could put a coin in ) and the basement lunch place at the Tottenham Court Road junction with Hanway Street...
    • Did you try the emergency number posted above? It mentions lift breakdowns over the festive period outside the advertised  times. Hope you got it sorted x
    • People working in shops should not be "attempting to do the bill in their head." Nor if questioned should they be  trying to "get to an agreeable number." They should be actually (not trying to) getting to the correct number. I'm afraid in many cases it is clearly more than incorrect arithmetic. One New Year's Eve in a restaurant (not in East Dulwich but quite near it) two of us were charged for thirty poppadoms. We were quite merry when the bill came, but not so merry as to not notice something amiss. Unfortunately we have had similar things happen in a well established East Dulwich restaurant we no longer use. There is also a shop in East Dulwich which is open late at night. It used not to display prices on its goods (that may have changed). On querying the bill, we several times found a mistake had been made. Once we were charged twice for the same goods. There is a limit to how many times you can accept a "mistake".  There is also a limit to how many times you can accept the "friendly" sweet talking after it.
