It sold overpriced baby/toddler clothes, ok for gifts but not everyday purchase. Too expensive and possibly just outside of the yummy mummy circuit.

nah, it shut before they opened I think (or was already on its way out with a closing down sale)

they had lovely things, but the location was wrong - too expensive to sit next to the Codfather. also the hostile owner didn't help, when you wanted to understand the frankly bonkers sizing.

There is no mystery about it - they didn't have enough customers and it wasn't financially viable. There are only so many people willing to pay ?30 for a t-shirt for a 6 month old who will grow out of it in 2 months.

I would imagine it closed down because of the miserable, child-unfriendly woman who worked there driving customers away.

I would like to think it closed down because reality kicked in and yummies started to realise spending 30 smackers on a cheap arse depressing bit of old material for a child who will grow out of it within a month or two, was not really a worthy cause for a score and two fivers.

I have to say that always found the staff there really nice - one of the staff often brought in her own toddler on a Saturday and she would play away happily which I thought was nice in a children's shop. I just think that most of us would rather buy a t-shirt for a fiver that's all - occasionally I bought something in the sale as a gift for a new baby.

RosieH probably has a point; the owner was curt, miserable, unfriendly and unhelpful. Went in just once and felt so unwelcome I turned on my heel and never went back.

I never went into Raisin, but I must say I do sometimes wonder why people do things that they are so obviously not cut out for! Working in a shop entails having a certain attitude to the people that come in - ie being polite and helpful!
