Sometimex there is no option but to use a DM link I'm afraid, bu they do have a selection of pics that truly sum up the twisted death cult of apple and its now departed bearded messiah.

This vermin that walk our streets with their "mobile telephones". Life is too good for them. They should be sentenced to death and executed on the spot by tooled up ED citizens. once weve got the thieves, nonces and pigeons out of the way of course

actually, I have reconsidered my position. Ifone 5 is the turn point of humankind. This will have more impact that the discrovery of the Wheel, Fire, the printing press and Jez Kyle put together.

Its just a shame that Steve Jobs cant be here to see it, though I have a crafty feeling hes now sitting at Gods side up in heaven, on his face, with just the hint of his famed cheeky smile. The bearded nazi prig.

Does having the latest phone improve the quality of ones conversation? It is a phone isn't it, for talking? I speak as an owner of an unfashionable Nokia and wonder how much my life will be improved by 'upgrading'. Can someone explain why people queue for one of these things? It seems like an idiotic waste of time. What am I missing?

Not snorky. He shuns material possessions!

(I do think that the apple fanboy cult is pretty weird though)

I love gadgets but the thing is that with apple they hold back features they could easily put in each model (eg front facing camera, camera etc) . Then add them drip drip drip every six months. This cons the Appleheads into buying every release of their product.

At that price, hell no. Maybe bunged ?50 or summat (at least, that's what I used to budget for hard-up students, though there are now professional rent a crowd agencies who charge considerably more, but can get you the right 'look' of person for your queue).

There'll still be a few genuine nutters in there though.

    • The Herne Hill Forum is raising money to replace the much-loved but decrepit wooden children’s trains outside Herne Hill station. The new train benches will be made of stainless steel with seasoned oak slats to sit on. The design is based on the Lord Nelson Class engines which passed through Herne Hill Station between 1926 and 1962 and the Pullman carriages in service at the same time. The trains will be painted green, the livery colour for Southern Railway in the 20s and 30s. Youngsters peering inside the carriages will glimpse some unexpected passengers: penguins commuting to work, an owl in a flap, a ghost on its way to Halloween, a fox and his friends, a heron migrating back to the hill and a bear checking tickets have all been smuggled on board. The carriages themselves will be clad with painted wooden boards for local artists and school children to repaint when necessary. The quality of the materials and the design should ensure the trains’ longevity but also come at a price. To cover the costs, the Forum has launched a crowd funding campaign and if all goes well, the new train benches should be installed by the spring.  Back the project here: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/herne-hill-train-benches (Admin, we know this is not ED but we didn't feel it was right for the Lounge so have put it here, given many ED-ers use Herne Hill. Apologies if it's in the wrong place!)
