'Brody' has signed up on a massive contract for series 3,4, and 5! How on earth the plot can last that long I have no idea?!?

However, excellent tips on Damages having extra series....loved 1 and 2.

Other guilty box-set pleasures have been 'The Unit', think Desperate Houswewives meet SAS action.

Hmmm....now I love DH so might just have to check out 'The Unit'.

Whilst t'other side of the pond is producing some great writing, it's sad to see Uk screenwriting descend into ham. The new fashion seems to be period drama soap opera (Downton and The Paradise spring to mind). Lark Rise to Candleford has much to answer for.

Loving Homeland too but have to say didn't go with the bit where Brody was taking the tailor to the safe house and ended up killing him. Surely, if Brody was about to speak at some glamorous political fund raiser the terrorists could have found someone else to deal with the tailor. Also the tailor falling on the spike in the wood - of all the spikes in all the woods. I thought for a minute they were going to run into the Walking Dead Zombies (fab too).

Am I too involved?

Oh and is the new surveillance guy (brought in to oversee last wk's Brody following and capture) a goody or a bady?

Good to see a smattering of fab British actors with lead roles in both dramas - once I've got over their accents.

Having watched the season finale on beeb 3 this week you could do worse than watch Lilyhammer.

A one dimensional send-up of The Sopranos it may have been, but it had a good script and a whole host of fine comic turns.

Steven Van Zandt provided much of the comedy in the sopranos, and hones Silvios character to comedy perfection here, but the supporting cast are absolutely impeccable most notably Trond Aurv?g (yeah, I had to look it up) as his hapless but earnest sidekick who would steal every scene he was in.

Daft as it was it was an absolute joy.

    • You can make cider from a variety of varieties of apple.  If course the best is west country/SW Midlands which is predominantly cider apples, that can be so tart it knocks your head off.  But cider producers often add desert apples, and Breton and Normandy ciders are sweeter.
    • Hi,  We are welcoming a puppy to our family in a couple of months, and since I'm new to the area, I'm looking for some local recommendations.  I am looking for the following:  Highly recommended vet  Groomers (they are a cavapoo, so will be a regular!)  Group puppy training classes  Thank you 🙂
    • I too am very sorry to hear this, taliax7. It must weigh heavily over you and your family.
    • We did L-shaped conversion and put the bathroom in the middle so could be shared by both front and rear bedrooms and strongly recommend this. We'd stayed in places with ensuite bathrooms in front bedroom and didn't want kids / guests having to walk through front bedroom from back bedroom. All of our loft rooms feel spacious and have lots of light. You can add more roof windows and adding a side window in addition to rear window on back bedroom makes a huge difference to the feel and light. Think how you'll use the rooms and where the furniture will go; and pay attention to where you'll have reduced headroom as this catches lots of people out and having to make mid-build changes. Suggest view your neighbours lofts and see what you like and what you don't. Hope this helps
