Indeedy! It is a far better meet than Ascot, I love a warm well cut coat and co-ordinating enormous brimmed hat. That reminds me, I must buy some new leather gloves. Far too many people turn up for Ascot in stretch white limousines wearing cheap clingy acrylic dresses displaying the line of their inadequate underwear if you ask me...

Haven't been for about 13 years. That was a fab day out - met a couple of Millwall players on the train whom we'd seen score the night before. Think I was more excited by them than the gees gees who I always feel sorry for on that uphill finish. Not sure my liver could hack Cheltenham any more.

Well I use Betfair a lot and you can 'lay' on there so effectively become a bookie - but I haven't the balls or the bankroll to do it professionally! I made ?100 last year....hardly gonna pay the rent is it!!! but I enjoy it immensley and im also in the 5% of Betfair customers who actually make a profit!

- for what's its worth I put my money on Kauto Star for the Gold Cup a fair time ago and got better than the just above 'evens' generally available now. I think he'll walk it.....

Just trying to work out how to leave work and go to the pub at 3.30 for what should be a fantastic race....Mark, I did a bit better than that on the exchanges after KS went out follwing the injury scare so got 3s...

With some mates in the pub. Took the afternoon off for the racing. Nenuphar collonges won the 2.50.

My mate had lost all but ?8 before the 3.30 so I suggested I pick his last horse. I went for Neptune collonges due to the other collonges winning the last race. He won

?30. I picked the next horse and he won ?168!!! I am feeling lucky :))

    • I think it's a good idea and follows the example of other towns/areas. As it says in the article, the area around the main tourist attractions in Southwark, that is The Globe, Southwark Cathedral, Tate Modern and the whole walking route from London Bridge to Blackfriars, takes a lot of maintaining and it shouldn't be a burden on regular council tax payers like us.
