I agree Morocco is good for a short break. Might be cool in Feb though !

We went at Easter before last for a week (same reason).

Three days in the High Atlas mountains and four in Marrakech think I'd TRS

them for another trip. Can recommend good hotels if you decide to go.

Need to go a little further south for sun. Canaries is better but have to research

the best island as it can be windy too. Gambia sun is guaranteed but maybe a bit far (6 hrs).

Decent bargains in Egypt at the moment as people are scared off but not for any real reason according to my pal who commutes weekly and has a place there. El Gouna is a self contained resort with villa accomodation on the Red Sea that has everything kids would want, hotel pools you can use etc decent cheapish restaurants (Italian, European, African) and some beachfront with good diving. Not too pricey either at the moment and Easyjet fly into Hurghadha. If I had any dosh left this month adn had your spec with kids and wanted it fun and easy that is where I'd go.

I go to Gran Canaria every year in early Feb. The weather is blazing hot - like a desert. Yes it is a bit windy but it is the best way to start the year tan wise. It's an easy place to be as long as you don't mind shopping centres full of Germans.

Cape Verde is supposed to be nice too but the lack of Easyjet and budget hotels has put me off.

I sincerely hope similar is available still because for many elderly their pet is their main source of comfort and company.

If you just say , “no, I think it’s x” they start again and get to an agreeable number, or find a calculator. I don’t think it’s a malicious attempt to swindle people. Just not great arithmetic.
    • There are excellent charities like the Greenwich Wildlife Network who will help if you report any concerns with local wildlife. Foxes are wonderful creatures who had been forced into our town and cities and are just doing their best to survive, we should take care of them when we can.
    • Like I thought… prob like that for most of the day.. especially after people had walked their dogs, with friends, relatives  kids…
