Tooth fairy - what's the going rate?

What's the current rate paid by the tooth fairy in East Dulwich? I was thinking a pound?

My daughter lost her first tooth today too! She'll be getting ?1 like her big bro though they often claim that significantly more is given to their classmates - tall tales I reckon.

Tooth fairy left a pound under daughter's pillow last night, definitely have heard of more being left but I reckon our tooth fairy is pretty fair and ;-) tbh our daughter is more excited by the letter left.by the tooth fairy than the cash -clearly that will change, but for now...

Oh dear, maybe I'm really soft, but I thought it would be a lot more! I remember as a child being really disappointed that the tooth fairy had only left me a very anticlimactic 20p. I think I would have rather kept my tooth.

My boss has an interesting solution. Apparently his tooth fairy has an EU contract and leaves only Euros!

20p?! You were luck ;) I used to get a shiny 10p piece in my little tin in exchange for my tooth (except for when I had to have big baby teeth taken out to make room and they earned me a special 50p for being brave!).

In NZ I used to get 20c (around 5-10p) for a bottom tooth, and 50c for a top one (no idea why the tooth fairy felt the need to differentiate!). I think ?1 is fine, I've heard that's what our local tooth fairy pays, and we are due to have a visit soon :-)

Defo a pound. Although I had a conversation with a young girl doing a table sale outside her house off Whatley Road in the summer and she proudly showed me her first toothy gap and told me she had got ?15 for the tooth and her mum was there to agree. I nearly fell over!

I got 50p for a first tooth in 1988. I asked a saddo I know to work out the inflation....and it would now be 90p.

In my research on the going rate - I came across a child who received a packet of chicken flavoured crisps. The tooth fairy had no change and improvised.
