If it's just an "overground experience" that is required, rather than actually using it to go go anywhere .... why not get on a normal train at ED (no steps) & change to the train of your desire at PR? Same platform & rarely a wait of more than 15 Min's. Dalston or Clapham await .....

Interesting spending figs from House of Lords Q and Answer:

Lord Kennedy of Southwark asked the Government how much they have spent on (1) Elephant and Castle, and (2) Denmark Hill, railway stations in (a) 2010, and (b) 2011.

Baroness Stowell of Beeston replied that Under the National Stations Improvement Programme (NSIP) ?11,000, ?30,000 and ?879,000 was spent on station improvements at Denmark Hill station in 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12 respectively. ?3.4 million of funding under the Access for All (AfA) main programme has also been spent towards a ?4.18 million project at Denmark Hill, which is due for completion in 2013. Of this, ?400,000 was spent in 2010 and ?1.6 million in 2011. Under the station commercial project facility, ?328,000 was awarded in 2011 for new station ticket gates and ?80,000 to improve retail facilities for passengers at Denmark Hill. There is no record of equivalent expenditure at Elephant and Castle.

cannot believe how bloody long its taking them to do those steps at Denmark hill! anyone know an update on step free access at Peckham rye?

Only me - this is a great tip-off, do the ED trains always arrive at the same platform as the departing ginger line then?

    • Can you explain why some residents would be made homeless if they are building more accommodation?
    • Hate people who let off loud fireworks.  We had neighbours two doors down who used to let off the extremely loud fireworks in their back garden.   This was usually, but not always, on the days around Guy Fawkes and New Year’s.  It was torture.  I felt as if I was in the middle of them and it seemed as if they were directly outside our windows. I often involuntarily screamed as they were so loud and startling.  The dog was petrified and I was worried they would crash into the house or garden. Thankfully they’ve moved and taken their firework obsession with them.  I know someone whose dog collapsed and died during a bout of neighbourly fireworks.  Many dogs and cats go missing during firework season due to trying to escape from them.
    • Hi, We are looking at a property on Croxted Road near the Turney Road across the Garden Centre). I wanted to get people's sense on: 1. Road and train-line noise (house is on side sandwiched between street and the rail line) 2. Secondary schooling - lots of good state primaries, but I don't think there is a catchment for a good secondary The proximity to Herne Hilla and Dulwich Villages is nice as are properties on that street, but bit concerned about the above especially given required mortgage levels we might not be able to do private secondary. Thanks
