Pulls enormous Spiderman Duvet from handbag and dashes over to Mr Michael Palaeologus. Tucks him in nice and snug. Texts Ana to bring chum back his periscope, reading material (Ohmygod!!!) and nice bar of Frys Chocolate Cream - for a special treat. Smiles and thinks welcome home to the Quiet Room Michael.

* enters and notices the following: *

beer cans stacked in pyramid formation

champagne glasses chucked in a corner, all broken (both types - the flute ones and the breast-modelled ones)

2 slivers of "meat substance" - probably from a keeebab by the bit of carpet near the door

the absence of ANY people

some tumbleweed

* thinks to self; "when I were younger this place were right busy. I didn't used to come in much meself like, just put nose up against window but still an all..." *

    • On the nostalgia side, I don't think anything can replace the clatter of the metal crates and the whirr of the milk float making its short hops. • I highly recommend anyone wanting to learn manual driving to use Nicholas Driving academy, great instructor who makes things easy to learn while being calm and fun reducing stress. Highly recommend!
    • I view this as a bit of unnecessary political point scoring. I mean, it's not as if she has more important things on her mind. She should get a rap on the knuckles but resignation? I don't think so. Quite how the Tories have the temerity to point fingers after the shambles and outright corruption that took place over Covid, I really don't know.
    • I did check that Tesco were the applicants on at least one of the 7 May forms.  I would be interested to know what Monica has seen.  Possibly some other formal annnouncement somewhere, or the LL traders' grapevine (which I'd guess is generally reliable)?  I wondered if it might have been a licensing matter, but don't see any mention in the licensing sub-committee's 16 October meeting agenda. In the meantime, I'm not even assuming that Tesco are taking the lease.
