heheh I DO know about the yellow line business. I was meaning more whether you have to have a residents permit or not. I used to live in Brixton and you couldnt park anywhere without a residents permit even if there were no yellow lines. The signs gave the impression that at a certain time at weekends you could park but you would still get a ticket regardless!

tinagwee if there are respark bays in your street they're normally marked out in broken white lines with a notice on a pole (or a czech). Sounds like there are no obvious parking restrictions in your road though so your friend should be OK. LL can be a little trickier.

    • Seems to be back on now although pressure reduced especially for hot water via boiler. Hopefully I can have a shower in the morning.
    • It’s far too hot. Dogs should not be out and you’re right to post this.
    • Agree that you have to be so careful dogs in this heat… but please dont judge so quickly.  Its one thing if you see a dog at midday being thrown the ball endlessly, but if you see a dog en route / somewhere - You dont know if that dog was being walked to the vet for an emergency appointment.. or taken to a friend’s house that is cooler etc.  And if they live in a flat, they might desperately need to be taken out for a quick pee / poo !
    • I know,  absolutely crazy.  A dog has never died because it didn't have a walk, but dogs do die if walked in this heat. Perhaps the owners should put on a thick fur coat, take their shoes off and jog round the pavements, and see how that feels! 🤬
