Oh I agree - I thought Nicholas was an absolute prat - he could have survived so easily if he hadn't brought up his culture and art versus football debate.... he just struck me as a boy, really. And Alan Sugar let's face it, is all man!

As for Raef - I think his hair alone gives him a place in the final ....

Its the first time I've ever watched it, have to say, I have never seen a more pompous up their own backsides elitist group of wannabes, though I really admired Alex for standing up to the snobs, who felt it necessary to say there was a big divide in class and thats why they weren't getting on, they were well educated and cultured (tw@ts if you ask me), to which Alex promptly replied that he had a degree, just didn't find it necessary to wave it in everyones face every 2 seconds! Really enjoyed it and can't wait for the next episode

Alex was a complete and utter knob jockey! He didn't have a clue, and his tactic was bullying.

Nicholas was a twat, and deserved to go, although I would have liked to have seen Alex get the boot.

Raef - at the very beginning I thought he was a tw@t, and he probably is. However, I respected him because he stood up to bullying, and stood up for a couple of the weaker ones. I would put him above the 4 or 5 estate agent types in the group.

As for the girls, I think we'll see some great bitch fights in the coming weeks!

I missed the first 2 series, but got totally in to it last time round, glad to have it back!

Have to say that I can see where you are coming from Keef, although I didn't feel he was a bully, they were just way too full of their own self importance to follow his requests and messed up easy tasks like pricing, marking up and identifying the fish correctly, he did not have great leadership skills considering he is in charge of a sale team of sorts as a career, (god help them),not very good but he was the only one with enough bollox to stand up and say I'll do it, everyone else bottled, Raef when it came to someone standing forward as a leader was all a twitter!

Actually I agree with you Keef - Alex started looking for his scapegoats before they were even halfway through the task - his dressing down of Nicholas was simply a lesson in public humiliation - very poor show.

Which is why Nicholas would have survived if he had actually performed well in the boardroom - instead of resorting to schoolboy arguments of "he doesn't like me".

The Apprentice is one of the only things worth watching on telly nowadays. I love it!

With regards the tasks, none of themhad a clue, so I think they should have worked together on them a bit more. As for the pricing, that was a huge mistake, but even I know ?5 is insanely cheap for a lobster, and I hate fish/seafood! You'd have thought 1 out of the 8 of them would have said something rather than blaming it all on the one guy.

I thought he would speak up for himself well though, but his whole educated / class type arguement was cringe worthy, and he pretty much sealed his own fate!

As for the girls, I think I'm going to really hate the Dark haired girl who "rates herself as probably the best sales person in Europe", and the other one who was going on in a really LOUD and CONFIDENT voice, but who really did sound a bit thick!

The Apprentice is one of the only things worth watching on telly nowadays. I love it!
Second that.

In fairness it's the kiss of death taking on the role of Project Manager in the first task and Alex was particularly bad hence the discredit Raef and Nick strategy who were equally appalling. They're all knobs. You've got to be right up yourself to go on a show like that, but it makes great TV. I hope Raef gives as much comedy value as Tre who was truly priceless.

Yep Raef is definitely the new Tre!

I'm really intrigued by the girl who dresses as if off to Ascot or a wedding - and who wears matching berets on all occasions...

You're Fired on BBC2 (immediately following The Apprentice) is very funny viewing as well ....

Thing is, they're not looking for the characters. They need a Tre, so they have Raef. They definitely need a Katie (psychotic nutter), and I think there are a couple of contenders there! I quite liked the red head girl in the shirt & tie, but she'll probably turn out to be as annoying as the rest.

Glad something else worth watching is starting now Ashes to Ashes is finishing. (that's another thread)

It was a fab show last night! Never, and I do truly mean never have such a bunch of coonts been brought together to create such hillarious tv! Raef and Nicholas were prize a-holes but expect it to get better as the regional accent vs no accent divide widens!

As for the lasses - the only one that looks half normal is the black girl. The rest are a bunch of looooons!

The only downside of the series will be that people know what they need to do to survive - i.e. find a scapegoat or distance themselves away from being team leader (although that in turn could be entertaining)

Great "shout at the telly" viewing thought - and Adrian Chiles on "You've been Fired" is v funny as well

    • The OP is simply asking a question? and as a few people on this forum seem to know about every subject posted 🙄 maybe that was the reason for asking?😉 It's been such a dry summer so far, maybe "some trees" are becoming less stable due to lack of rainfall and needed some safety pollarding work?  (another question🙂)
    • No offence, but why not start from the assumption that the trees team in Southwark Council know what they're doing because it's their job and aren't a bunch of ecogenocidal maniacs looking for excuses to cut back trees? I'm not an expert but if they're not coming back to cut down the rest, then it seems like pollarding. It always looks ugly at first. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pollarding
    • It looks like the branches overhung the entry way to the toilets. There's a lot of paranoia about at the moment about branch drop after a couple of sad accidents which have happened recently where beloved trees were propped up but still dropped branches then everyone jumps up and asks why nothing was done before. You might remember when the massive oak fell over in Peckham Rye by the skating park, thankfully no one was hurt.  I've noticed notices in almost every public space warning about branch drop and some trees have had barriers put underneath them etc. These things seem to come into vogue and then pass again.  I expect local authorities in their regular meetings have all been discussing their risk exposure and issues of corporate responsibility etc....and someone will have been assigned the task (and responsibility) of making everything all right. Perhaps this tree fell victim to that. I doubt there is malice and something they feel is safer/appropriate etc will take its place in due course.  I don't doubt cutting it back is an over reaction but at the same time we all bellow at them when things go wrong so there is a difficult path to navigate. It was a chestnut by the look of it, so not particularly rare I have plenty of saplings growing through my beds if they wish to replace like for like.
    • it was super odd... my first instinct was perhaps this individual was lost or needed help... but when they just stood there looking me dead in the eyes it felt intimidating.  i did call 101 and they were super helpful and seems like i wasnt the only one that rang that night. thanks for the help and advice ... really appreciate it 🙂
