Does seem that more of the contestants on this are trying to use it as a springboard into the media.... this was on the holy moly mailout today:

http://lindimngaza.com/

(sorry no idea how to do clicky links - is worth cutting and pasting for the toe-curlingness of it!)

I used to like Alex, now he's turned out to be a complete tw@t! Claire did my head in, waiting to see what the more quieter members turn out to be like when they get put in charge, reckon we'll see a few fireworks, I did like Simon though sorry his plans got thwarted by Alex and Claire mainly, liked the way Jenny turned so quickly on Claire though, great viewing!

Alex and Jenny really turned on her didnt they, what a bunch of back stabbers they all are!

If Simon had played a bit dirtier in the board room she would have gone but he was too honourable in there i think. still he came out looking like a decentish human being which is quite a feat for that show.

That Claire is a knob, and not a very bright one at that. Alex has been a nasty little sh!t since the first week!

Simon is the nice guy and a grafter, and Sir Alan saw that, and thats not what he needs really.

I love Jenny, in that she is dispicable, and great TV.

Damn it, I wanted Claire's team to lose and for her to get fired. She only won because of that jammy last minute order!

Was glad Lucinda did quite well, although she was silly in the board room trying to use that other horrible girl (helen) as back up against Jennifer, as just last week they were fighting, and she was never going to admit to bitching and stick up for her.

Would have rather seen Jennifer go, but she probably does have the more potential. Was TV Gold when she got back to the house and said "apparently I'm Icey", only for all of them to say nothing and try not to make eye contact!

Yeah, I really wanted Clare's team to lose and for Lucinda's to win, even just to see Clare's face! Lindy def on another planet and a legend in her own mind! Mind you they all are up their own backsides, which makes viewing fun! Wish Lucinda would grow some balls though and put the bitchy bullys in their place, would be nice to see her (without tears) really lose her rag at them and shut them up, but I doubt it, not in her nature.

What they all said.

Lucinda's seemed a bit crap and dippy up to now, but she's also been hampered by people deliberately putting her into roles where they think she'll fail so they can use her as a whipping girl and try to get rid of her. Now that she had more scope to show what she's capable of she did a lot better. But yes, still needs to assert herself more when necessary.

Very miffed that Team Evil didn't lose. Jammy gits.

Lindy seemed nice enough but with no real substance, just a load of talk and display. Personalised contact for your laundry anyone? Ha. Didn't exactly think that one through and I think it summed her up pretty well.

The 'apparently I'm icy' moment was great.

I watched it for the first time this series and wasn't that impressed. It's a hackneyed idea and a very tired format, masquerading as something better than X-Factor/Britain's Got Talent etc because it's about business, which somehow lends it an air of Reithian values. Clare is like Kerry Katona with an NVQ course in business buzzwords. Jennifer looks like Fiona Bruce's malevolent - and thick - older sister. Suh Ralan himself does a very good Mike Baldwin impression. It's all 'guys' and 'go for its' and is depressingly familiar.

It is great telly. much better than any of those talent shows. I am so over them.

Lucinda better watch out for Helene now though, i reckon she's coming for her after that lil' bitchin session.

I like Lucinda, at least she doesnt spout the same old meaniongless motiviational dross that the rest of them do, but she is so passive agressive it spooks me. but the rest of them are just so agressive agressive maybe thats why.

But that Alex- He is the devil and no mistake.

    • I've never got Christmas pudding. The only times I've managed to make it vaguely acceptable to people is thus: Buy a really tiny one when it's remaindered in Tesco's. They confound carbon dating, so the yellow labelled stuff at 75% off on Boxing Day will keep you going for years. Chop it up and soak it in Stones Ginger Wine and left over Scotch. Mix it in with a decent vanilla ice cream. It's like a festive Rum 'n' Raisin. Or: Stick a couple in a demijohn of Aldi vodka and serve it to guests, accompanied by 'The Party's Over' by Johnny Mathis when people simply won't leave your flat.
    • Not miserable at all! I feel the same and also want to complain to the council but not sure who or where best to aim it at? I have flagged it with our local MP and one Southwark councillor previously but only verbally when discussing other things and didn’t get anywhere other than them agreeing it was very frustrating etc. but would love to do something on paper. I think they’ve been pretty much every night for the last couple of weeks and my cat is hating it! As am I !
    • That is also a Young's pub, like The Cherry Tree. However fantastic the menu looks, you might want to ask exactly who will cook the food on the day, and how. Also, if  there is Christmas pudding on the menu, you might want to ask how that will be cooked, and whether it will look and/or taste anything like the Christmas puddings you have had in the past.
    • This reminds me of a situation a few years ago when a mate's Dad was coming down and fancied Franklin's for Christmas Day. He'd been there once, in September, and loved it. Obviously, they're far too tuned in to do it, so having looked around, £100 per head was pretty standard for fairly average pubs around here. That is ridiculous. I'd go with Penguin's idea; one of the best Christmas Day lunches I've ever had was at the Lahore Kebab House in Whitechapel. And it was BYO. After a couple of Guinness outside Franklin's, we decided £100 for four people was the absolute maximum, but it had to be done in the style of Franklin's and sourced within walking distance of The Gowlett. All the supermarkets knock themselves out on veg as a loss leader - particularly anything festive - and the Afghani lads on Rye Lane are brilliant for more esoteric stuff and spices, so it really doesn't need to be pricey. Here's what we came up with. It was considerably less than £100 for four. Bread & Butter (Lidl & Lurpak on offer at Iceland) Mersea Oysters (Sopers) Parsnip & Potato Soup ( I think they were both less than 20 pence a kilo at Morrisons) Smoked mackerel, Jerseys, watercress & radish (Sopers) Rolled turkey breast joint (£7.95 from Iceland) Roast Duck (two for £12 at Lidl) Mash  Carrots, star anise, butter emulsion. Stir-fried Brussels, bacon, chestnuts and Worcestershire sauce.(Lidl) Clementine and limoncello granita (all from Lidl) Stollen (Lidl) Stichelton, Cornish Cruncher, Stinking Bishop. (Marks & Sparks) There was a couple of lessons to learn: Don't freeze mash. It breaks down the cellular structure and ends up more like a French pomme purée. I renamed it 'Pomme Mikael Silvestre' after my favourite French centre-half cum left back and got away with it, but if you're not amongst football fans you may not be so lucky. Tasted great, looked like shit. Don't take the clementine granita out of the freezer too early, particularly if you've overdone it on the limoncello. It melts quickly and someone will suggest snorting it. The sugar really sticks your nostrils together on Boxing Day. Speaking of 'lost' Christmases past, John Lewis have hijacked Alison Limerick's 'Where Love Lives' for their new advert. Bastards. But not a bad ad.   Beansprout, I have a massive steel pot I bought from a Nigerian place on Choumert Road many years ago. It could do with a work out. I'm quite prepared to make a huge, spicy parsnip soup for anyone who fancies it and a few carols.
