Hi

For anyone looking for a heating or gas engineer, we would recommend Paul Harrison.

We discovered we had a problem with the gas fitting when we came to install a new range cooker and we found Paul very helpful in resolving the issue. He came on the day we called and was knowledgeable, helpful, and efficient in solving the problem.

We would definitely use him again.

Wanted to give another recommendation for Paul Harrison. I had a minor emergency with our gas hob yesterday and needed an engineer to call ASAP. Paul was kind enough to respond to my call and come over last night to assess and fix the issue which was such a relief! He was very polite and professional and considerate and we shall certainly have no hesitation in calling upon his services again. His number is: 07864042208.
Just made a callout to Paul based on the recommendations in this thread and he was brilliant. Got to us within an hour or two of calling for a leaky pipe which he fixed straight away, was thorough and gave us some good advice too for maintaining the pipework. Very pleased and highly recommend.

Hello

Just a recommendation for Paul Harrison! I contacted him late last night about fitting my oven following a kitchen re-fit and he came over at lunchtime today and sorted it.

He also spotted an issue with my boiler which he then fixed, so I'll be getting him in again!

Thanks again Paul.

We would highly recommend Paul! He has been doing multiple jobs on our home renovation project for the past 3 months. He?s removed and tied off old sinks in bedrooms, replaced a kitchen tap, fitted a new Vaillant boiler (and gave a 10 year guarantee as he?s Vaillant certified/accredited), replaced some of the gas pipes to bring up to standard, replaced 6+ radiators and re-sited another.

He works really hard and has been really helpful with his advice. It?s also been a pleasure having him around.

Hi EDF, if anyone is in need of a plumber I would recommend Paul Harrison +44 7864 042208 - friendly, prompt, quick to respond to messages and has fixed an issue in my bathroom which has in fact been made worse by previous plumbers before him. Thanks very much Paul!
Hi, just had some work on a boiler and central heating done by Paul Harrison - PSH Heating & Plumbing. He managed to fit me in very quickly. Friendly service, fixed the problem some of which was caused by another tradesperson. I would recommend Paul wholeheartedly - 07864042208

The flush pipe on our toilet was leaking. We had previously had Dyno Rod out (under the British Gas plumbing cover) twice who had supposedly fixed it. It started spurting again and we realised that we needed a proper plumber. We got Paul Harrison's name from this forum. He immediately recognised that the flush pipe was too short and so brought the cistern itself forward off the wall (concealed system). The Dyno Rod guys had simply pushed the flush pipe back into the toilet without properly fixing it. Paul sorted the problem out in about 25 minutes.

If anyone is in need of a plumber I would recommend Paul Harrison on +44 7864 042208. He is also recommended by others on this forum.

    • We have had a few cat flaps over the years but none have been electronic. They just have a small clip that you turn to lock or open.  Some come with a magnet and a matching magnet that the cat wears on its collar  This prevents other cats entering.  I've not used these as I don't like the idea of a cat wearing a collar. Cats do like to be out at night and you need to encourage yours to return after a late evening sortie. Calling, rustling treat wrappers worked for ours but he seems to have now got into the habit of coming back about 9pm. without this.
    • Having had several cats over the past 40 years - mainly rescue, we have a tried and tested routine, Initially confined to one room with litter tray/food/water - we take it in turns to stay for a few minutes several times a day so they become familiar with our scent. They are gradually introduced to the rest of the house. We have a wire cat basket and we place cat in basket and take them outside, over a few days we place basket in different areas of the garden - grass area/gravel area, patio area etc - different flowers/plants. Some of the more nervous cats we walk around the garden on a lead. They get use to the scent of the garden. We have a cat flap in the back door so they have full access - If we need to keep cat in - just block off the cat flap so they cannot escape! We are now down to one elderly cat - who during the summer just laid on the garden chairs and came in for food, but as weather getting colder prefers to sit on a worktop in the kitchen looking out into the garden. So we are back to the cat litter as she is reluctant to go out in the rain/cold.
    • With fibre you are paying for the speed, which is the number, yours is 300 so if you did a lot of gaming, for example, you would want the fastest possible.  If it's just office work or maybe streaming on Netflix you likely won't need as fast, but, if there are a lot of people in your house all doing their own thing on different devices, then faster speeds are better.  I don't rely on my Wi-Fi much other than when I am using my mobile.  I use Ethernet cables to connect up everything, I Have one cable running from my router, along the skirtings and through a hole I drilled in the wall to another room.  I have attached the plusnet speed guide which gives you an idea of how it works.
    • I'd reread what you posted and try to summarise.  It just comes across as a rant.
