I tried here this week.

I think it depends what you mean by 'good coffee'. The best coffee I've found nearby (roughly in order) have been at:

1. Browns of Brockley

2. General Store, Bellenden Rd

3. Cafe Viva near Peckham Rye station

4. Dish and Spoon - on a good day.

I know St David's in Forest Hill is supposed to do good coffee but I've never tried it.

But the point is, by those standards I've yet to find a really decent coffee in East Dulwich (yet).

The cafe looked nice enough otherwise...

St. David's has absolutely fantastic coffee and some really great food too. I've found Homemade on Barry Road (very close to the Rye) has good coffee too (and delish brownies).

"From the Forest" across from FH station also had good coffee. Further afield, in Honor Oak you get great coffee (and cupcakes) at Nandi Nandi - Moira and the team are also lovely people. Arlo & Moe near Crofton Park station also has good coffee and eats.

I like my coffee :)

We went there today for a quick coffee and ended up staying for two! Coffee (latte) was lovely - hot(in so many cafes they serve it tepid) and strong. Croissants were fresh, flaky and not dry and we had a lovely fresh orange, ginger and carrot juice. Service was friendly and the prices reasonable. There were some lovely sounding sandwiches on the menu so will definitely be returning to sample one. Definitely recommend.

Went today for brunch. Really liked it.

I had poached eggs on muffins with spinach, wasn't sure what to expect but it was really well put together. Coffee was good I thought, my partner had a mocha which she said could have been more chocolatety but was strong enough at least. Service really good.

They didn't have a veggie version of the full breakfast would be my only criticism.

I'm a big fan of the Aneto cafe. It opens early (around 7.30am on weekdays) which is a big plus, and has free wifi. The menu is great, lots of healthy options, and always nicely cooked and presented. I think they have very cleverly filled a gap in the market.

Personally I think it's reasonable to ask people with dogs to sit in the very nice outside area.

Had yummy takeaway cakes from aneto before, but this weekend finally got my arse over there for breakfast and it was fab... I had poached eggs with spinach, but others had bacon sarnie, full English and a couple of the specials and everyone agreed it was lovely. Staff are v v friendly and we had to kids in tow, who they were v good about. Pls support this new local venture :)

Went to Aneto for the first time today. I LOVED it - delicious coffee, lovely eggs and smoked salmon (and a fab veggie breakfast for my friend - not on the menu but they were happy to make anything he wanted). Also, perfect carrot cake. Very reasonably priced and extremely nice, attentive staff. Can't wait to go back.

    • Greg did an amazing job! He built a cabinet in my living room and added shelving. A lovely guy and perfectionist who goes the extra mile. He really understands what you want and comes up with various options to meet your price range. Would highly recommend!
    • I love the fact that virtually everyone held their hands out when furlough payments were made yet can't equate massive debt with massive cash payments to keep the economy ticking over.
    • The problem with delivery people nowadays is that they are on such a restrictive schedule that they literally have to just try to deliver and run, otherwise they are penalised. I understand the frustration though.   And good luck making any kind of complaint to Evri. I once sold a laptop on ebay, took it to the Evri pick-up, where it was processed and it then went 'missing' between their pick-up place and the hub. Went through a long, long process where they offered me a desultory amount in compensation and I had to take them to small claims court before they came up with a fair offer the day before we were due to be in court. Long story short, Evri are shite.   Go to look at this forum for the number of people who have issues: https://nationalconsumerservice.co.uk/forum/183-postal-and-delivery-services/
    • I haven't had a rude EVRI delivery but last week I had an unexpected delivery at 10.42 pm. He didn't ring the bell or knock on the door (or rattle the letter flap) but just took a photo and put the box down.  If it hadnt been for the door camera giving us a beep we would never have known there was a parcel ready to sit there all night.
