I noticed that Spearmint Rhino (I work very nearby) have lots of St Georges** flag helium balloons in its doorway today.

Not sure what patriotic services are on offer today.

Come, allow fit eastern europeans to con you out of a hundred pounds for a glass of 'champagne'....in English*!!

Tillie Trotter - did you realise what a bag of worms you were opening with your pleasant sentiment?

It would seem that some people could find something to argue about even if they were in a room on their own!

Of course I did, open the can, sit back and watch the predictable. Fun a!>:D<

On a serious point. I did notice Goose Green looking a bit forlorn and naked today seeing as in medieval times there'd have been much frolicking and sheep grazing on this day. Perhaps we should organise something and make it bit of money for charity?

Keef . . . the sheep?

In the name of St George! You?re not going to leave me in charge of the barbie queuing are you? Firstly you are making an incorrect assumption that I can be trusted with the responsibility of feeding people. Secondly I will be in close proximity to both alcohol and fire.

I'd recommend bunting instead of a flag, if you must.

    • In part, it’s largely down to people not actually caring about anyone or anything else apart from their own gratification (btw, there are better ways to get a dopamine fix)
    • I totally agree it just seems that it a thing nowadays.  It must be due to how fireworks are sold.

    • If it was limited to a couple of days a year, so we all knew, that would be fine. In the last few years (and it is a recent thing) you get random fireworks going off any time after dusk for half the year. It does more than cause problems for pets and wildlife- it can mean lasting damage and massive expense and hassle for pet owners. All because some get a buzz out of loud bangs.
