I can recommend Leon from Electrical Initiative hands down. He’s efficient, always gives a specific time slot, is punctual and does a great job. He’s been on my contact list for the last eight years, and any electrical work he is the first person I call.

Another recommendation for Leon / Electrical Initative!

He came round yesterday for the first step of a job, which involved testing the wiring in my flat with a view to installing a new consumer unit. Once done, he gave me his report and recommendations, and I look forward to his next visit. What impressed me is that he has a very "holistic" view of the property, and explained to me how things work and how things are connected (not just electricity, plumbing and gas are part of it too). The main issue with my flat is the outdated earthing cables - because standards have changed since 30 years ago!

I'll add that he responded to my initial text message within one hour. He came round four days later, even working on a Saturday. He is very friendly and approachable, obviously knowledgeable, and affordable prices too. I fully expect to be leaving another positive feedback post before long.

Leon from electrical initiative changed our old skool kitchen lights with modern dimmable down lighters. I'm really pleased with the work, fitted to a very high standard. Leon has it all, excellent electrician, polite, easy to get on with, turned up on time, excellent communication and charged at fair value. I highly recommend his services.

Hi joined EDF only to post what a cracking electrical service I got from Leon.
Bit old skool in not much communication on WhatsApp (at least until the end) but a perfect result for a variety of issues - some big, some small in East Dulwich terraced house.
half the price of a quote I had and with no rather menacing  ‘until we find the faults the clock will be ticking as will your bill’.
He quoted and delivered on time.
Will be using him in future and recommending to anybody in the area.

Following up on my post of May 12, Leon of Electrical Initative arrived yesterday and fitted my new consumer unit.

He did an extremely thorough job, not rushing anything, which I find very reassuring. So often I get a repair job where the impatient workers seem to be in a tearing hurry to finish up, move their parked van so they won't get a ticket, get to the next job, and collect their money. Not Leon. After about two hours of careful work and tests, made all the more challenging by his having to work in a cramped space under the stairs, I now have an up-to-date consumer unit installed, one that's up to code with the latest regulations.

He also found an extra 20 mins to fit a new bathroom light for me, and adjusted the settings for me too. Two jobs on a single call, as he'd promised he would - what more could you want?

I whole-heartedly recommend this honest and trustworthy trader to anyone who needs electrical work done in SE London.

Leon fixed my garden and kitchen lights after we had 5 previous electricians coming in and not being able to fix it. We were desperate but he fixed it all in one go. He was super professional, efficient and on time.

I am a happy customer and wouldn’t hesitate to call him again.

Thanks Leon

Leon is super-helpful and very easy to deal with. Called him first thing on Saturday morning and he was here within a few hours. Quickly identified the problem, sorted it, didn’t charge me for a part either. I really recommend him.

I would throughly recommend Leon of Electrical Initiatives Ltd. He is very professional and polite and courteous, and was able to be flexible to fit around my tenants, even being understanding when access arrangements didn’t work out the first time.

His prices are reasonable and his work thorough. Leon has done a few jobs for me now and I won’t hesitate to come back to him for any future electrical work needed.

Leon has just completed a job for me which he did perfectly. He was good at communicating and securing an available date. I found him to be punctual, helpful and efficient with a friendly demeanor. He went above and beyond and I’m really glad to have found a reliable and trustworthy electrician. I highly recommend him!

Another recommendation for Leon Duffy. He fixed a tricky light switch and investigated another electrical issue for me. He kindly followed up with information to help me decide on next steps - will call on Leon again to help with these. 100% recommended.

Further recommendation for Leon from myself. We got in touch over the weekend and he promptly arranged to come by one evening that week. Leon was very helpful, personable and did a good job. Will definitely be getting in touch with future jobs.

I would like to endorse Leon. Due to a dodgy fuse all ceiling lights were out. He found and fixed the offending fuse, explained what had happened and offered advice on updating the fuses, also sending a link of where to buy them, super helpful.

    • As I age, I understand a lot more about community spirit and people’s fear in the current climate of going to the assistance of a person in need. Yes, this might in part be aged related but is also driven by not wishing or wanting to help but a combination of self preservation and yes, fear of what the attacker might do or even worse get stabbed or physically assaulted.  Whilst it would be great to have more police presence to reassure community and hopefully act as a deterrent to people whose aim is to rob people or home and attack people, due to the cutbacks and not sure about my next comment but lack of police officers in general and reduce number of recruits, let’s face it - we as a community should step up to protect our community and assist police. Years ago, I attended one of these evening meeting with the local police officers - turn out was less than a dozen local residents. Yes, was in the evening when a lot of families were dealing with homework, feeding, after school activities and obviously there are housebound people and older members of the community who understandably would not wish to come out. I believe that to address this, the church at the top of Barry Road near the library have over the last couple of years advertised  and organised day time meeting with two local police officers responsible for the area to address issues concerning the local community. What  happened in daylight might as mentioned above been in part caused by an individual with possible mental health problems - the point is we should all feel safe on our streets in London and without doubt if you read the news, seems like stabbing, assault is now just the norm - a reflection of modern day society in any large town in the UK. If memory serves me correctly, not related to assault but was not someone stabbed a couple of years ago near the junction with the organic shop? And I believe mentioned recently someone died in the local community from an assault. Would be good to have an update from the police or someone known to the individual attacked.  I was in East Dulwich just last week talking to a friend in Barry Road and was surprised to see two bobbies walking along the road in broad daylight so now having heard about the assault can only assume police presence has been increased.
    • Disagree. Where are the police when you need them? People want a police presence, they want to feel reassured by seeing them do what the word suggests, policing, so go catch some bad guys, arrest, charge and get the CPS to prosecute with the evidence to enable this to happen. Stabbing and shootings are so common place they no longer even get reported in the public domain. How many crimes don't get solved? Rather case closed and forgotten. The number of low to high level crimes which remain unsolved is staggering.  The criminal fraternity know this, they know they won't get caught so they just carry on.  Biggest crimes which affect most people, probably are phone and car theft, both are prolific and what do the police do, diddly squat. zilch, nothing, provide a crime reference number and the case is closed. Not good enough, not by a country mile.   Met Engage? I don't think so.

Recent data suggests a drop in violent crime. Gang violence will make a significant contribution to the numbers. You are unlikely to be attacked by a stranger
    • Unfortunately there are plenty of shops which don't care and will sell vapes, alcohol and weed to minors, I'm sure they won't care about selling them fireworks. Or the kids nick them.
