Nah.

Curvy = fat

Bubbly = fat

Vivacious = fat

Fun-loving = fat

Brutal but true.

I can guarantee that my idea of fun and my SOH will not be the same as those of anybody describing themselves as either fun-loving or having a GSOH :))

ETA: It's the dating equivalent of those places which describe the stuff they sell as "stylish" :))

Not tried it, but I imagine speed dating is the most efficient form of dating.

A minute or two is probably all you need with anyone - to make a decision as to whether to take it any further.

Unfortunately (so I'm told) it's also the one the attracts the highest proportion of 'not with a bargepoles'.

Yeh but the weird ones have cottoned onto that.

You don't find out they're weird till later.

Apart from the one who thought it was a good dating ploy to send me a link to a website dedicated to his dead wife.

No Mad Mick I'm not even trying. Even flies give me a wide berth!

With there being so many 'experts' on internet dating posting I was wondering what exactly a female could write to attract the males on here who see most things as meaning something else?

I met my partner via online dating 8 years ago and still going strong :) When I was last single I was urged by 20/30-somethings at work to try online dating as that was considered 'the norm' by them. Tried it for a few months, met some very interesting peeps, had some quite frankly hilarious dates, and finally met R.

The trick (I feel) is to not take online dating uber seriously, to have some fun, to have a decent 'get out' strategy (always meet for coffee or drinks on first meeting, never a meal) and to keep an open mind. Many online daters are far to strict with their requirements....

'female 36 - wants to meet solvent, tall, dark handsome man with own hair, house and car. Must adore cats and no beards/moustaches.'

'male late 40s - wants to meet green eyed oriental lady 18-29. Must be under size 10 and large bossomed.'

That's because they thought you genuinely had a GSOH rather than that you were being honest :))

    • From what I have gathered from Bradbury Oak residents  I have spoken with, that at a meeting with RNIB earlier in the year, none of the residents were in favour of new build. There is the implication that rent rises are anticipated to help towards building costs. Rent is currently in the region of £300 pw - as with most sheltered housing (council and Housing Association), Since these rents also include maintenance charges, utility charges - Housing Benefit is only applicable to the actual 'rent element' per flat.
    • At the Dulwich Hill SNT meeting last night we spoke about Met. Engage. Dulwich Hill had signed up 185 households.
