It may be just me but I'm fed up of logging into the forum and seeing posts and posts about Green and Blue. Do we not have anything else to discuss on here? Can we not just let them pick themselves up from the drain/repossession saga and get on with it?

I'm sure I'm going to be shot down here - 'free speech' 'open forum' 'you don't have to read them' etc etc but I can just imagine the team at Green and Blue looking at this site and thinking 'oh god it's those bloody moaning forum people again'.

let's give them a break if only for a few weeks.

Blimey, there's been two discussions about them in a month. There were four or five about the election, usually a few about F**tons, Le Chandelier etc and there's always ones about curry/thai/chinese restaurants... are you suggesting we ban those too? I think you'll find that Green & Blue team get a huge amount of support from the bloody moaning forum people, just because one person has an issue with the manager doesn't mean that everyone does (even though that's what you've seemed to have read into it).

As for "Do we not have anything else to discuss on here?"... there's about 250 pages of topics, that's about 7,500 things for you to discuss. Or feel free to start your own but just don't make it about Green & Blue, like this one.

Just trying to put a realistic perspective on it.

Sorry just seems like an awful lot more than that. Of course everyone is free to post on whatever they want - I don't have to read the threads I don't fancy after all.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Ps. another thread on G&B had been started today that seems to have disappeared- I'm not totally mad and plucking this out of the air!

Right - now I'm going to enter into the spirit of things by having a moan about Green and Blue.

Seduced into their shop yesterday by a large display of Breton cider near the open door, and bought a bottle to enjoy in the sunshine.

It stood on the counter dripping wet, having come out of a container of water.

It continued to stand there after I paid for it, whilst both I and the G&B bod stared at it.

Then he just said "We don't have bags."

Erm, maybe you could have put a bit of tissue paper round it like wot you do for the wine, or doesn't a ?3.55 bottle of cider warrant the expense?

Carried it away with wet hands while it dripped down my clothes. Preferable to having it drip all over the contents of my handbag.

Great.

Maybe they thought I was riff-raff and undeserving of a bit of decent service.

Shame, I've always like Green and Blue.

:(

I think possibly it was because he came over all a bit queer, and was all of a doo-dah.

Though of course I could be wrong.

Probably not my brightest idea! I just had a moment of madness when I saw someone had started another thread going over recently discussed topics (since removed). Maybe should have tried the more subtle - I think you'll find that this has been discussed in depth here - link to thread- approach, or nothing at all. Damn broken my ban . . . . . . .

    • I don't think it is time restricted...the Southwark noise team's website says....(oh and look at the very first item on the list....;-))   Noise issues and nuisances that we can deal with We can help if you're being disturbed by noise coming from: amplified music TV parties nightclubs and pubs including people outside making noise DIY home renovation some construction sites barking dogs alarms / car alarms odours and fumes from commercial properties smoke commercial venues and events dust or noise from some works or equipment in the street fireworks at night from 11pm to 7am - extensions exist for the following festivals: first day of Chinese New Year until 1am the following day on the day of Diwali until 1am the following day New Year's Eve until 1am on New Year's Day 05 November until midnight
    • Surely nobody is going to want books in poor condition, unless they are rare and possibly valuable?
    • Is that not only true within certain hours? I just did a quick Google and this came up (not specifically Southwark): The Noise Act 1996 defines "night hours" as 11 pm to 7 am, and local councils can take action if noise levels are excessive during this time. This means they can issue warning notices or even investigate for a statutory nuisance if the noise is particularly disruptive, according to Gov.uk.  I'm sure it's more complicated than that, and I'm sure it's been discussed on here before, though I can't remember which thread.
    • Get on those waiting lists asap if you haven't already. I waited till after the birth and it was very challenging getting a place once our daughter turned 1.  She ended up at LEYF Camberwell (we had to accept 2 days to start and gradually got to ramp up 5 days). She absolutely loved it there after an initial shaky start but her key worker and team worked really hard to settle her in. They spent a lot of time giving her cuddles and making her feel safe. Great outdoor space and really caring, enthusiastic staff with low turnover. Would highly recommend.
