That ad happened to come on the other day and my little boy was completely transfixed (didn't pay much attention at the time to see what was being advertised) - he's 16 months old - so I can only imagine that if you have a girl the right age you'd never hear the end of it. But hey, look on the bright side, there's now somewhere local you can go to buy the shoes and put an end to the pleading!
re: Lelli Kelli shoes... after over a year of (intermittent) pleading and begging, i finally caved and bought my daughter a pair for her 5th birthday. i spent a small fortune on them (they were her ONLY birthday gift from us) and she has worn them, um, MAYBE three times since then (four months ago). so... i've learned my lesson. there will be no such momentary weaknesses in my future... no shoes with toys in the sole (have you heard of these crazy things?), nor shoes with roller skates in the heel. plimsolls and mary janes for school. maybe some wellies. i have only myself to blame. :-$

So Lelly Kellys have got toys in the sole. In my younger days we had WAYFINDERS. Stout black lace-ups, the kind William Brown used to wear.On the soles were raised animal footprints, badger deer etc which would stencil into any muddy or soft surface you walked on. Until of course they wore away. But best of all in the right shoe there was a little flap in the heel, lift it up and hey presto, a compass. Fantastic.

I lived on Waterloo Road at the time and there was no wildlife to speak of, and annoyingly I never once got lost and had cause to use the compass.

Still they were both there if I needed them.

I have never seen so much SNOBERRY and PREJUDICE!!!I am digusted! I live in Croydon and for you and HonaloochieB to make such comments about Croydon you have to be both of these. To judge people for where they live and assume they are all the same is out of order. Just because some of you were "born with a silver spoon in your mouths" doesn't give you the right judge others that weren't.

By the way before you judge me as well, my parents are educated, me and my husband are educated and both running our own businesses; but that doesn't mean I despise people less fortunate than me.

And what is this gathering of snobbs throwing such nasty comments at your local shoe shop? I just can't understand it and feel sorry for that shop, well actually in all fairness no publicity is bad publicity.

SHAME ON YOU!

Irina

I have no idea why people are so upset about this shoe-shop either. I think several people have gone OTT in their attacks on it. Either shop there or don't but I can't see why this seemingly unassuming (in a boudoirish kind of way) little shop attracts so much ire

And I'll make no great claims about East Dulwich either - BUT.. come on. Croydon. I have several friends who live there. ALL of them want to leave. I've gone out several times in Croydon and bar the Beer Circus (now closed) it's.... a typical British "new town". Like Swindon. (I've lived there too). You live there and you are happy and that's great but you must be able to see why people (and not just on this forum. Most newspapers have a go. It didn't do too well in those CrapTown books either) take the proverbial? Don't take it so personally

Ahhahhahhhhahahhhhahhahhahahha LOfarkinL - Are you sure?

To add - why do you care so much eh?

Sorry - have to add more - to register and post first time just to defend this shop surely smacks of an ulterior and defensive motive. We don't really care and most people on here are not snobs.

I went in the shop the other day with an open mind and it is SHIT. Personally for those prices I'll spend a few more quid and buy a decent pair of shoes from M Louboutin.

Out of all the shops that have opened , I for the life of me can't understand why THIS one is getting so much flak.... I really can't

I have no connection to them and am unlikely to be their target audience but give them a chance - what have they done to anyone?

    • Nothing to do with the tories overspending whatsoever eh! Blame the last 10/11 years of blatant mismanagement, incompetence and willful deceit on the poor bastards that were left with the fall out of a complete car crash tory government.   One PM after another falling on their sword. Open corruption and piss taking throughout covid and a legacy of huge debt and destruction yet in your view it will be labour's 4 years in power that bankrupts us in 2029.  Another one that must think people are blind and stupid.  Rejoice rejoice. It's a pity he and his fellow clowns were completely annihilated at the ballot box. I mean they were doing so well after all 🙃🙃
    • Where did I say he did a good job? Yup and Corbyn was very close to Len McCluskey and funded by Unite wasn't he...they're all as bad as each other... Labour have to purge their party of the far-left - they're a disaster. Allan Johnson summed it up so well on election night in 2019....
    • Thank you for the detailed advise @trinidad It is definitely damage we are concerned about. I don’t think Evri would agree to pay the bill to fix our gate or letter box if they were to be damaged as a result of their delivery drivers helper. Our doorbell can be heard from outside when rung so we don’t quite believe the aggressive simultaneous door/letter box banging is necessary. It can be quite a shock it is done very aggressively.  I’ll definitely action the steps you’ve kindly provided along with a phone call tomorrow. I do sympathise with the role drivers have and how busy they are, which is why we tried communicating directly with her but sadly we haven’t succeeded
    • What outcome would you like? Disciplinary action? Not to have the driver back? Retraining? I know there is alot of pressure on drivers to deliver within a set day. if he slams the gate, is it evidence he is causing damage, or is the noise a irritant to yourself? You could put a sign up or buy a signing asking to close the gate gentle???? can you hear the door bell from the door? he might be ringing, not hearing and therefore knocking. In trhe notes section of the be livery page, there is a note section, although there is not 100 per cent these notes would be read as these drivers are constantly rushing.  I did a google search for you, i found this and you can try the envri website Contact Us | Evri   To complain to Evri, you can follow these steps: Contact Customer Service: Call Evri's customer service at 0330 808 5456 for assistance with your complaint.    1 Write a Letter: Address your complaint to Capitol House, 1 Capitol Close, Morley, Leeds, West Yorkshire, LS27 0WH.    1 Use the Official Website: Visit the Evri complaints page on their official website for detailed instructions on how to submit a complaint.    2 Email or Call for Specific Issues: For issues like missing or damaged parcels, you can email or call 0800 988 8888, which is free to call.    1 These methods will help you effectively communicate your concerns to Evri.   My driver is called anthony, he is brilliant to be honest. I cant fault him.
