It is difficult to protect young children as Deet, the product that is in most mozzie sprays, is really not suitable for delicate skin. Any products for children have highly diluted deet which makes them less effective. When i go abroad I take other precautions such as spraying the room regularly with mozzie killer before I go out (to avoid chocking on the fumes) and leaving the toilet light on at night to attract them away from the bedrooms. Also book air conditioning. I used to be bitten alive years ago but these precautions mean I don't even bother with the sprays much anymore.
I always use Avon Skin So Soft - its not marketed as an insect repellent but having worked with film crews extensively all over the world they let me in on the secret that they all use this stuff when they're out in jungle locations etc.! It does leave your skin beautifully soft, smells of citronella and most importantly keeps mosquitos away....and I get eaten alive even though my partner who won't have a single bite on him. And no, I'm not an Avon Lady!!!

    • Some P13 drivers appear very risk averse. I live in Underhill and on that road drivers are forced to back away, often considerable distances, from buses to allow them to pass, even when the bus has an immediate space it could back into. The driver at the time said that buses 'weren't allowed to back'. So reports of cars 'blocking' P13s might mean simply that the car was legally parked but the road too narrow,or the bus driver not prepared to risk advancing. NB some P13 drivers are both skilled and courteous, but not all.
    • I’ve experienced the same in Herne Hill. It’s definitely linked to where there are already marked bays, it prevents you from parking within approx 200-400 metres around the bay. Dulwich Village has quite a few bays, which probably explains why you’ve noticed it there and not elsewhere.
    • They are quick enough to issue tickets why can they not tow it away. How many people waited at bus stops for no bus.
