Difficult to tell. Looks like mine have a black head/fore-body, an orange mid/lower body, and a white (tipped) tail. Can't easily identify them online, nor get a decent pic. I'll persevere...

They're Tree Bumblebees. They're one of our newer species (a happy addition or a noxious invader, according to your taste in ecological delusions), and have been turning up in London for the last five years or so. The year before last there was an active colony of them in the big oak nearest the boating hut in Dulwich Park. But it's not there now, so won't be much help.

That's them! Thanks Burbage. I will indeed leave them bee :)

    • Personally, I would like to see labour do something positive for the country, unfortunately under Starmer and Reeves the opposite is true. Change of leadership.is now required, not a general election at this stage but if Starmer and Reeves stay in post then the May local elections will give Reform more power.  Now is the time for change and damage limitation , not after May when large number of reform local councillors will be voted in as a protest against this Government.
    • I have found two entertaining ones so far... 1) Led By Donkeys projection on Windsor Castle  https://www.standard.co.uk/news/crime/trump-epstein-projections-windsor-castle-state-visit-arrests-b1248118.html 2) Brits protest against Trump state visit with Epstein merch all over Windsor Castle  https://www.indy100.com/politics/trump/donald-trump-jeffrey-epstein-merch-windsor-castle

    • More let off last night, early evening. I do not ever recall hearing fireworks on such a regular basis at this time of year. For those walking dogs after dark, this must be of concern.
