Who relies on Forest Hill for electricity?

I met a few residents from Underhill Rd and a couple of streets in Forest Hill this morning at Cafe2050. Obviosly they couldn't make coffee, so chose the next best thing :).

The power is back on in Dunoon Rd.

It seems that a large chunk of "Upper East Side" is without electricity.

Apologies for being thick but where is upper east side?!

Overhill Road was out all morning. All back to normal now :)

"Upper East Side" is not my fault.

I had a flat tire; I ran out of gas; I didn't have money for cab fare;

an old friend came in from out of town; there was an earthquake; a terrible flood; locusts!

Apologies for being thick but where is upper east side?!

Sean McG introduced me to this phrase. Roughly, the area Lordship Lane north of the library bordered by Forest Hill and Honor Oak Park. Includes Underhill/Overhill way where we are.

Believe it may have been made up by estate agents (hence macroban's contempt?) but I've only ever seen it used in jest on this forum.

More relevantly, does anyone know how long the outage lasted? And how likely is it that the things in my fridge will now poison me?

The power went off at 8.45am, by the time I got back to my flat at about 12.30 it was back on. Provided you didn't open the fridge/freezer and let all the cold air out the contents should be fine.

Most places where back on between 12-1pm. We had no power til around half 4 (near Sydenham station), a colleage who lives just around the corner from Sydenham Park (where the fire was) said her power was out til about 11pm last night!
