I would also really recommend Laura. Our garden had been quite neglected over the summer and was looking very shabby. Laura and her cousin worked really hard (and very quickly!) to get it trimmed right back and looking pristine again. They took great care over the shaping of our fruit trees and the bushes. I'm really pleased with the results.

I would highly recommend Laura. The previous owners of our flat in Streatham had not attended to the garden in some time, and it needed quite a lot of TLC. She came to check it out at very short notice and gave an immediate quote, and came back two days later to do the job. She was very courteous and cleaned up wonderfully.

I will be recommending Laura to any of my friends in the SW area.

A recommendation from me for Laura: Prompt, courteous, friendly and professional. Did a fabulous job for us as agreed, no surprises and was very neat and tidy as she went along. Heartily recommend for anyone looking for a regular or occassional garden service in the area

I must say that Laura offers a truly fantastic service! She has turned our garden around and did it in record time! I cannot recommend her enough. We didn't even want to go out there it was so overgrown but she cleared it and even though it isn't warm yet, we cannot stop looking out the window and gazing at how great it looks! Thank you, Laura!

Very happy with the work Laura did for us today removing some trees and clearing our garden. She worked hard to get it done quickly and left the area tidy. She was also careful taking the cuttings through the house to dispose of them as we don't have side access. All at a reasonable price. We would definitely call on her again. Recommended. :)

Laura (07714 778024) came last week to sort out our hugely overgrown back garden, which hadn't been touched for a good year or two. She and her helper did a great job, leaving it looking spick and span and much more inviting ready for summer. She also took away a big pile of old wood that we'd had lying around for years. She is coming back to clean the decking soon. Delighted with the service, with reasonable and honest pricing - recommend.

I can throughly recommend Laura from Garden Service. She came around quickly to have a look and provide a quote, turned up when agreed, and has done a fantastic job with minimal mess and disruption.

We will be using her again and would advise others to do the same!

A belated thank you to Laura and her colleague who did a great job of cleaning our filthy decking last month. They were friendly, thorough and efficient and got on with the job with no fuss. It has made a big difference to our garden and I will definitely be getting Laura and team to come and do a general garden tidy at some point. Many thanks.

Hi, I would also like to add a recommendation for Laura and her team. They have been looking after my garden for the last 3 months. They are punctual, efficient, friendly and have done an excellent job in tidying up, weeding, getting rid of leaves, planting, sweeping etc....and making the garden look like it should.

Thanks again Laura

Another recommendation for Laura and garden service. After a fair few unsuccessful attempts to find someone for some basic mowing and maintenance, I can highly recommend Laura. Quick, reasonably priced and actually knows what she's doing. Will be using her on a regular basis.

I recently moved into a house with a very small, overgrown garden in Honor Oak Park. After researching for a suitable local team I contacted Laura to discuss the removal of a couple of trees and tame my out of control wisteria. She was able to visit and provide a quote the next day.

Last weekend she, and her colleague, arrived when they said they would and then worked non-stop for the following 5 hours in the cold drizzle. I was very impressed and the garden looked great afterwards. I just wish she could fix all the other things I have on my 'house to-do list'!

I would not hesitate to get her back if things get out of control again.

    • Per Cllr McAsh, as quoted above: “We are currently updating our Enforcement Policy and changes will allow for the issuing of civil penalties ranging from £175 to £300 for visible smoke emissions, replacing the previous reliance on criminal prosecution. " Is anyone au fait with the Clean Air Act 1993, and  particularly with the state of 'Smoke Control' law and practice generally?  I've just been looking  through some of it for the first time and, afaics, the civil penalties mentioned  were introduced into the Clean Air Act, at Schedule 1A, in May 2022.  So it seems that, in this particular,  it's a matter of the enforcement policy trailing well behind the legislation.  I'm not criticising that at all, but am curious.
    • Here's the part of march46's linked-to Southwark News article pertaining to Southwark Council. "Southwark Council were also contacted for a response. "Councillor James McAsh, Cabinet Member for Clean Air, Streets & Waste said: “One of Southwark’s key priorities is to create a healthy environment for our residents. “To achieve this we closely monitor legislation and measures that influence air pollution – our entire borough apart from inland waterways is designated as a Smoke Control Area, and we also offer substantial provision for electric vehicles to promote alternative fuel travel options and our Streets for People strategy. “We as a council support the work of Mums for Lungs and recognise the health and environmental impacts of domestic solid fuel burning, particularly from wood-burning appliances. “We are currently updating our Enforcement Policy and changes will allow for the issuing of civil penalties ranging from £175 to £300 for visible smoke emissions, replacing the previous reliance on criminal prosecution.  “This work is being undertaken in collaboration with other London boroughs as part of the pan-London Wood Burning Project, which aims to harmonise enforcement approaches and share best practice across the capital.” ETA: And here's a post I made a few years ago, with tangential relevance.  https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/278140-early-morning-drone-flying/?do=findComment&comment=1493274
    • The solicitor is also the Executor. Big mistake, but my Aunt was very old, and this was the Covid years and shortly after so impossible to intervene and get a couple of close relatives to do this.  She had no children so this is the nephews and nieces. He is a single practitioner, and most at his age would have long since retired - there is a question over his competence Two letters have already gone essentially complaining - batted off and 'amusingly' one put the blame on us. There are five on our side, all speaking to each other, and ideally would work as a single point of contact.  But he has said that this is not allowed - we've all given approval to act on each others behalf. There are five on her late husband's side, who have not engaged with us despite the suggestion to work as a team, There is one other, who get's the lion's share, the typicical 'friend', but we are long since challenging the will. I would like to put another complaint together that he has not used modern collective communication (I expect that he is incapable) which had seriously delayed the execution of the will.   I know many in their 80s very adept with smart phones so that is not an ageist comment. The house has deteriorated very badly, with cold, damp and a serious leak.  PM me if you want to see the dreadful condition that it is now in. I would also question why if the five of us are happy to work together why all of us need to confirm in writing.             The house was lived in until Feb 23, and has been allowed to get like this.
